God I need a miracle this week....... am tired of waiting for my case number .

I know how you feel. My 23 month daughter was just diagnosed with Autism in Brazil and I need to have her start therapy here in the states. I feel so helpless and cannot sleep. :(

Hi Muhammad!

Just letting you know that I have an appointment at the U.S. embassy here in Belgium for them to notarise a copy of my passport for the W7 (they specifically have that as a document they notarise on their website). It'll cost 50$ but given the important difference in taxes if we file jointly, it'll be well worth it.

I'll then mail that to my husband so he can apply for the ITIN with his tax return.

Hopefully that's an option for you wife as well!

Hi,

thank you for the update. So you asked that such as document is enough to issuing ITIN?

I think I will then request an extension and have my wife go to the embassy in Lebanon to notarize a photocopy of her passport.

Thank you again.

get a doctors letter and request an expedite.

I'll definitely try this. I just found the email address. The physician already completed a CARS assessment. I think she also speaks English. I'll see if we can get a letter in English and have her translate the results as well.  Thank you for suggesting this.

I know this doesn't help, but for us that came from the horrorfest that was Nebraska, it makes sense that NVC is slowing down. They are probably ''holding'' some cases while they handle the influx of cases currently being processed. It's just a theory but I think it adds up since they have more than twice as many filers now.

It took most of us Nebraska victims that applied between November 2016 and March 2017 an average of 10-11 months just to get approved. To put things in perspective, It took other centers 6-7 months on average! Was it fair? no. Just as it isn't fair some people wait a few weeks for a case to be assigned and others, months. Some cases are completed in two-three weeks, we waited five. But it is what it is.

NVC isn't divided into centers like USCIS, so it means they have to handle us all, including Nebraska. Sorry guys :(

It helped a little bit, knowing that it would take longer and the possible reasons behind it. It didn't make it easier, but I didn't go as crazy if that makes any sense.

Now I still have around 4 months to go even AFTER getting a case complete at NVC. That is very specific to the Mexican Ciudad Juarez consulate though, most countries assign interviews in a matter of weeks or a month at most, hoping delays don't become a trend there as well.  Sigh. Nothing about this is simple or enjoyable,  a year and a half trapped in the process is bonkers. But here we are.

Stay strong, people <3 you have my full support and understanding.

Similar situation here! I have vaccinations according to the home country laws but not per US laws for immigration purposes. I was thinking of doing the remainder vaccinations for Immigration at the local health vaccination center because I am missing 6 and I don’t think they do 6 vaccinations during medical at the Embassy.

I think we can answer either YES OR NO because at the time of interview will be all having that record about the vaccination we got , because will all have to do medical ahead of interview. In ANswer NO then we can explain that we will have them  at the medical

Yes I believe you can do so, like I said if many vaccinations are missing I highly doubt for health reasons they will do all of them in a session, so it’s better to come prepared and do all of them before hand plus it might be cheaper, at least for me it is! But, can you do the ones for immigration before medical or they will tell you something you did before for the purpose of immigration?

So, that’s a good question. But since I had all vaccine from the day I was born , but in accordance with my home country, I will present to them my vaccination cartons, because that is what all of us need to do and bring to the medical exam , and I think any vaccine that you are missing you are going to get there .

Yes I know that they will do the missing vaccinations there but, what if you have 8 missing? Can they do 8 in a medical? I do have 8 missing vaccinations for Immigration purposes. I think I am going to cal the medical institution and ask this information.

yes,you just need to ask for a confirmation with a stamp of your doctor about the vaccine that you have received .
