Hello everyone, 

 

I have a question about the tax docs. I know that until April 15, I still can use the tax doc for last year. My question is: if I file for extension (which is 6 months), would that work? I know that at the embassy they will ask for the new year tax docs if the interview takes place after April 15. 

After some research, I was informed that there was a new law in 2015 that does not allow to amend by adding a person who did not have a SSN at the time of filing. I would highly appreciate some guidance here.

NVC received my case on Feb 13 and has not assigned a case # yet  

 

what is your recommendation guys? should I ask to escalate to a supervisor? I read somewhere that it takes weeks until a supervisor looks at the request!

Seems like all the cases until  NVC receive date Feb 8 have been entered in to the system...

good for you I still waiting from 23th  of Jan :(((((((((((((  and now they are closed for a few days 

anyone know why this year is taking soooo long.

Because it is a different system that was down a couple of weeks ago.....I am waiting too!

Hi guys

Please u need help with this question,I have paid all my fee about once and fill out ds-260 and the only thing remaining now is my joint sponser,she havent file her tax for 2017 yet, and that has been a kind of delay I and my wife is face now...it been up to 2 weeks I submitted my ds-260 And havent send in the Affidavit Of Support documents yet...please I hope that won't a problem to me or nvc cancel my case...help please

Usually how long does it take between them assigning the case number and receiving the welcome letter? Without the letter we also cannot submit the documents, is that right?

as far as I know right now NVC is requiring the 2016 tax return not the 2017 yet, until it passes April 17th this year so you are fine submitting the 2016

I got my case # yesterday filled out the DS-261 and when I got up this am the welcome letter was in my email, and I am able to pay the AOS and DS-260 bills

Anybody with a pivot case got their case numbers lately? The last time I heard was someone from January 8th getting theirs 2 weeks ago. Any movement since then?
