That's so strange because the same happened to me. My receive date was 2/21 then 3 weeks later it changed to the 19th and then 2 days later changed back to the 21st. I received my case number oon Monday and still haven't received a welcome email. I tried logging in with my case and invoice number today but it said something about not being ready.

It is freaky to think about how disorganised and messy they are when they are dealing with people's lives :( I have read about other people having their dates moved as well.

Hello guys,

I am not sure what to do here :( so I am petitioning for my wife. In the 1-130 I put she is a student (and she is) and mentioned that she is not employed. She does not work; but she does some freelancing from time to time online.

I am filling form DS-260 now and the issue of employment is brought up again. I am wanting to mention that she is self-employed; but I am afraid that it will show conflicting information; do you think if I mention now she is self-employed, freelancing (Translation); would it cause issues? :(

well its complicated. does she make enough money that she would have had to file taxes? did she file taxes?

Folks, I have filed my taxes as single as my wife is not here.....my tax consultant told me file it this way and change it once she is here. Will this be a problem?

Nobody can tell you for sure. Some have gotten away with it. Some were questioned. You should have filed as Married Filing Separately and then paper file because you will need to write 'NRA' for your wife's SSN/ITIN. Then you can go back and amend it to Married Filing Jointly when she gets there.

yea no body knows. i asked my lawyer and she said to file single. the main thing is to be honest if they ask any questions. the real purpose of the tax papers is to show proof of your income and income doesn't change whether you file single or married.

Some have reported running into issues at the interview stage but again this whole process involves human intervention at so many stages, it's really up to whoever is looking at the case to decide...

She makes $100 a month. No she did not file taxes, no ITIN or SSN.
