Mine were all scanned portraits, but they rejected the two documents that were sideways

That's ridiculous, what if your document can't scan fully without it getting cut off in portrait mode when reading left to right? Are you supposed to know how to format the page to shrink the document so that it fits in portrait mode? UGH... anyways thanks, at least I have a ####### ton more weeks to prepare -____________-

I know! I had a second option of a birth certificate for my husband...and it's formatted landscape...I added it under additional documents. When it was rejected I just deleted it...I didn't know how I could do it without scanning half on one page & then half on another page.

It seems like they are giving conflicting answers! My suggestion is to do this (this is is what I did and my document was accepted after doing this):

1. Screenshot the first picture you have (the one that's NOT sideways), save that as an image

2. Open the image and click "print"

3. Save it as pdf. Here you should see an option to save the document in portrait.

This way, you will have the document displayed correctly and it will also be in portrait, and not landscape.

yeah ur last statement is contradictory because to read from left to right passport has to be in landscape because passport is a rectangle. if i put in portrait u wont be able to read it directly unless u rotate it or move ur head....

ok i think i got it now. you will still read it left to right but only diff is in portrait u have white blank space on top and bottom where in landscape u dont.....so my pic one from earlier is right but it didnt have white space on top and bottom and was bigger. then i changed scanner setting then it looks the same but bit smaller and and has white space on top and bottom and technically is in portrait. thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I first called it was back in January when they were still saying it takes 2 weeks to get the case number...so after 2 weeks they said they'll send it to a supervisor. Then a week later they told me it takes 6 weeks for the supervisor review! So I'm not sure what they're doing now...but "supervisor review" didn't speed anything up. Maybe just call once a week & ask if it's possible for it to go to a supervisor?? If it's a pivot case it will take about 8-9 weeks...I don't think anything will speed it up...and not calling probably won't slow it down. It's very frustrating!!

Thank you so much for helping. :) It is very frustrating! Best wishes for you for the next steps.

So your case will be in the electronic processing? If so, that's a good news indeed! :)

Actually it is EP now but I need to change my consulate from Abu Dhabi to Mumbai and I sent that request. ONce they process that it will be regular processing lol I took advantage of the PIVOT part and paid both fees though :)

For those of you pivot cases who are finally getting case numbers assigned... what are your receive dates at NVC? Trying to understand where they are at on the pivots because we are Feb 2nd and in our 8th week at this point. No number still. Getting desperate!!! Calling NVC daily, they are never helpful for any additional information :(

Hang in there. NVC received our case on Feb 1st. I spoke to them last night. The representative said to wait through Thursday (exactly 8 weeks from receive date) and to call on Friday if I still haven’t received a case #. I’m hoping that means we’ll have a case # soon.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am back with an update after soooo long. :)

* Non - pivot case

* Scan date March 1st, 2018

* Case complete March 28, 2018 ( Exactly 4 weeks guys)

Called to confirm just now when I saw AT NVC

I hope this will give hope to others waiting for CC.

Now waiting for interview date at the Lagos Embassy.

(Side note: for those yet to send in documents, please double and triple check because they are really finnicky and go through the documents with a fine tooth comb.)

In addition, I thought we would get a checklist and I will tell you why;

* I was overseas in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and didn't file taxes for that year ( I went to the IRS to get a letter that I didn't file for 2016, took me 5 minutes at the IRS office for free and I also typed and signed a letter explaining why and sent to the NVC)

*I started working in the US after my return in October 2017 so I did not have enough paystubs (I only sent 5 months of paystubs)

* The co-sponsor I used had filed his taxes jointly with his wife (so I had to send in his W-2 to the NVC so that they could see his own wages separately and I only included only the figures on his W-2 on the I-864)

I was pleasantly surprised that I did not get a checklist. For those who were overseas in the prior tax filing years be sure to read up what I sent in  to the NVC (see above).

Lastly, anyone waiting for an interview date at the Lagos Embassy?

I'm waiting for interview too at Lagos..

Cc March 12th.

I believe the SD is the day you finish uploading all of your docs. I called yesterday & they told me that after uploading we just wait. Most of my docs changed to accepted except for one that I needed to rescan & upload. Now we just wait for case complete!

Thank you! We are so close... all docs Accepted in a matter of days, then bam a 5 week delay because of an admin error. I'm so ready to be done with this snd I'm hoping they look at our ONE remaining doc so we can get an Accept and CC!

Any idea how long the wait is after all accepted to CC?

Quick question: when you get a cc, where is the status that says "At NVC"??? Does anyone have a screenshot of status after CC?
