Hello I have a question to ask.

Since I’m married do I have to change my surname on my passport for traveling to my husband when ready? Or I don’t have to change it?

Finally got an answer to part of my question. My case ended up in PIVOT because Abu Dhabi is going to be EP! Now if they had told me I could request the embassy change with my uscis receipt number last month, none of this would have happened. I am still waiting for a reply for an embassy change and then my case has to be transferred back to paper processng and then issued a case number...one of those rare gems of effed up....i hope ill see my husband this yr!

hey i was gonna get ur thoughts on something. if i amended my 2016 return should i send transcript or return or both? amended return has correct info but transcript doesnt. also should i submit w-2's as well?

You could always put the amended return in the "additional  documents" section. I didn't do that, but I plan on sending him with a copy of my amended return along with a copy of my 2017 transcript that should show that I filed correctly this year, to the interview. I just don't have my 2017 transcript in time to upload.

I have another update on my case today! NVC emailed me that they updated the status & to check online. Basically, almost all of my documents changed to "accepted" except for two that said rejected...the reason was that the documents were scanned horizontally & they need to be vertical! So I rescanned & reuploaded our marriage certificate. The other document was a second option for the birth certificate...so I just deleted it cuz there's no way to scan it vertically. I'm hoping this is ok, because the other birth certificate I scanned is the official one. I should've never included this other one in the first place haha!

So that's an important tip for all pivot cases...make sure all of your documents are portrait & not landscape!!

The NVC received my case from USCIS, (6 weeks after it was sent,). Hopefully it STAYS received this time!

I also learned they our case will be processed electronically. I thought Dublin embassy was in the snail mail camp. The first 3 letters of our case number will be DBL, right?

I don't see DBL in "Method 1: Upload documents online using CEAC required"

NOA1: 7th June 2017

NOA2: 31st January 2018

Sent from USCIS: 12th February 2018

Received by NVC: 16th February 2018

Started telling me they never received petition since: 22nd march 2018

Started saying they magically received petition: 26th March 2018

"there is no time frame for case number assignment": 18th May 2018

Case number assigned & fees sent: 22nd May 2018

Fees "PAID": 27th May

AOS & DS-260 with Civil Documents submitted online: 3rd June 2018

Case Complete: 14th June 2018

Received email with interview date scheduled: 12th July 2018.

Interview @ Dublin embassy: 2nd August 2018 DENIED!  (421 days since NOA1).

(incorrect spelling and missing middle name on police certs)

31st August: did my 2nd medical cert, because 1st one expired.

14th September: official APPROVED.

Currently: waiting for DPD courier to tell me my visa is ready for collection at my local depot.

Thank u even when I’m going to interview for visa?

Yes, a lot of women in the U.S. don't change their name, including me lol...but I don't think it's ever caused a problem. You could always say that you plan to change it in the future, if that's the truth.

Ha I just don’t want to spend money again to get a new one lol so I was hoping I could still use it until I come to the states.

I also think since all the paperwork has been done in your maiden name, that it would confuse everything to change it now! I've seen recommendations on here to either change it before you start this process or wait until you're in the U.S. To change it in the middle just causes a mess in the paperwork! You'll be fine!

The paper work was done in my married surname so I hope that’s ok . The thing is I couldn’t have change it before the paper work started because I didn’t have the marriage certificate my husband did so he jus go right ahead and use my married surname wen he received the marriage certificate.
