There's a rainbow after the rain. I cant wait to be a citizen so I would stop dealing with USCIS. VJ family is really a big thing, we're more knowledgeable than USCIS and SSA workers. LOL!

***UPDATE**  So hubby and I went to the office this morning with copy of policy this morning highlighted in Bright Orange, LOL, it pisses me off that after going through everything, the rep kept having to ask questions about what she doesn't know  like she just started working there yesterday, then a supervisor says it "I'm sorry we can't accept this, your just going to have to wait until you get your new card...I was ready and waiting for him to say that just so I could pull out my bright orange documents, in the end all he got it with nooooooo problem!! the lady came back she didn't apologize, but said you know our policies change all the time...BS, my job's policies change too, but I am updated on them....Thanks everyone for your help...Charmander you saved us.   What would I do without my VJ family

On the receipt they gave you, do you have a paragraph saying "You can use you SS card for work only if you have authorization from DHS" ? I went in this morning to my local SSA office to update status but the receipt she gave me at the end still have this saying on it..

Hi yes my husband previously had this on his card, but since he is a green card holder he was able to get the conditions removed.  If you are a green card holder you can get it removed and get a regular SS card, if not they will still keep the conditions on your card until you get your green card???  Let  me know if this helps

I didn't mean on his social security card. What I meant is the receipt they gave you at your local social security office after you submit your application.

It is a piece of paper about 3-4 paragraphs long, looks like this:

Does your receipt have this second paragraph?

Yes it is on our receipt as well, I think it's just a random paragraph that they need to include if it pertains to the individual..sorry for the misunderstanding.

Thank you very much!!

I went to my local office yesterday and handed in my 2-yr GC to update my status, got this receipt I was a bit confused/freaked out. LOL

then I phoned SSA waited 55 mins to speak to an agent, was told I shall not worry because social security is submitting my status info to DHS to get verified, once DHS verifies my PR status, i should get a card thats not restricted .

Good luck to your ROC as well!

Your so very welcome, yes we stressed 3 or 4 times that he would not have the conditions on his new card, and actually got the card in 2 business days with no restrictions...so it all worked out.  thanks so much
