The second part does not need to be asked at all because he had a "Interim TS Clearance with Need to Know" so that allowed him access to TS information. A TS interim is given out but it is very rare and even a Interim Secret depending on the level is given out to people. I have a high level S and was not able to get a interim so I had to wait a year until it was completed in order to work in this job.

I don't know since I am not that high up but the blowback would be awful to say the least.

I have never seen an interim TS clearance handed out, so I did not think there would be access to vital info until the final decision was reached.  If Cyber says he’s seen it, I believe him.  Having any clearance downgraded can simply mean a person has no need of the knowledge, not that he or she has done anything wrong.  If something is done afoul of the rules, usually the clearance is completely stripped, and the BG investigation is stopped.

 

And yes, I think Trump could approve of the clearance. But it was smart of him to let someone else make the decision to downgrade or keep it.  Gives him a level of insulation should something bad happen in the future.

Blasphemy!  Aren't the Kardashians THE family of the USA?? 

 

All I need to know about it is that if he does something illegal,  he gets punished for it.  But at this point, what does it even matter?  People with money and power don't usually pay for their crimes like we the people.  

 

All I know is if his TS was downgraded, there must have been a valid reason for doing so.  But it doesn't mean he did anything wrong.

Yeah, I can agree with that.  People will always wonder.   If it were me, I wouldn't want my family put in that kind of light.

 

But as I told SS earlier, we really cannot do much about it except gossip.  Does he qualify for the position on his own merits?  I'd hope so, but knew zero about him before, and very little about him since.

 

What I do know about security clearances is that if someone messes up, they are revoked pending an investigation.  Not downgraded.  I have known several people who were downgraded based on their job alone, had zero to do with the performance of their duties.

suspended, not revoked.  after the investigation, the clearance is either reinstated or then revoked.

downgraded is usually from not being in a position that requires the clearance.
