Does my co sponsor meet the poverty guideline

My friend want to be my co sponsor didn’t claim nobody on his tax and he is single and his tax retun for 2017 is $ 59,317,2016 is 28,094 and his 2015 is $33,754 my question is does he qualify to sponsor me cos the household is 2 that’s me and my friend..

Household of 2 is 20,300 on the poverty guideline all his most recent tax returns is more that what they ask for..

Is your friend a us citizen or permanent resident (green card holder)?

 

If so based on the above requirements and the amount you said they earns then yes it looks like they can.

They updated it last year, IIRC, in March or April. So I would expect them to do so again this year.

Good pickup...yeah, it's been updated for 2018 since I originally posted it! Looks like it updated on March 1st 2018.
