Actually in  my RFE i had to prove (by driving 10 hours to my mom for an  affadivat ) that i has told my mother i was going to marry and i am well over the age of deciding my own life and i am the USC

as for the rings     i would not show photos of exchanging rings /  looks like marriage and you are doing K1 financee

why not just tell them/ let the sparks fly/ you are their child and when you are ready to have children,  most of this will be forgiven

people seem to mellow when grandchilren are there

as for the age 10 years is not that much / we have the big age difference

as for the other above muslim woman / if the man is not muslim (by Islam rules) she is suppose to marry only a muslim man so interviewing in a muslim country this may be an issue

good luck to you both

allah yessir

You, my friend, sound like my future hubby. IT'S ALMOST PRECISELY WHAT MY FUTURE HUBBY TELLS ME.

I'm agreeing strongly with everything @Going through and @AL-MJD are saying here. Some of the best proof of your relationship will be proof of your in-person visits: boarding passes, hotel receipts, stamps in your passports. That kind of thing.

One note: since you don't have parental approval, it could be more difficult to go the K1 route. If you're traveling or spending time in person together by yourselves before marriage and without chaperones, that could look sketchy to the Indian CO. The CR1 may be the wiser choice...

I don't know much about CR1,

I don't know much about CR1,

It's a spouse visa. Basically, you get married first and THEN apply for a Visa.

If you decide to go with K1, just make sure you don't give proof of your relationship that would make it look like you're already married. Does that make sense?

How'd you two first meet, or got introduced?  Was she previously married?  Does she have kids?

Generally speaking, an Indian man is expected to marry a younger, child-bearing woman, with both families involved in the cultural process. The India-based CO is going to see a 26-yr old Indian male secretly hooking up with a 36-yr old USC female.. without his family involved.. as an attempt to get a green card. That is what a CO will start with.

You have plenty of time during the K1 visit to meet more, involve friends and family.

I agree. Especially as they have only met once (I know, I know it fulfills the requirements .... but wanting to marry someone you've met only once...I couldn't do it and I do get suspicious).

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

Depends, as we say on VJ age is just a number.

Hi everyone

Their is any problems with differences?

Just asking

Wells, my fiancée ever told me that the consulates look for red flags like different customs, age difference, secret relationship among many other things. Sometimes these are the reasons for rejections.

They are just preventing fraudulent petitions from getting an approved Visa, and protecting their citizens from fiancé(e)s who are only using the citizens for green cards.
