Should I take Updated Tax Document even if that's not what was submitted?

My husband filed his taxes late, he had requested an extension, he is self-employed. However, after filing his taxes, we used the tax return and transcript of that filing. IRS responded that there was something wrong with the filing and that they need to be adjusted. I already used that tax return for NVC. So my question is, if he adjusts the tax return, let's say the value is less than what it was before but over the poverty guideline non the less, whats your opinion on how the embassy will view this?

Should I take the adjusted copy or used the documents that they already have to not complicate things? Should we take the IRS letter with us to show that they requested the adjustment? Is it gonna be seen as fraudulent? I read this somewhere that fraudulent documents are grounds for dismissal.

Please advise.

No worries. Take the new one with you. They usually will not ask about the change or think it's fraudalent, especially if the value difference is not in the few thousands.

Don't take my word for this next bit, but you can take the new one and the IRS letter and point out the difference to your interviewer before they ask you about it.

I do believe it's best to be truthful about everything, including the updated tax return.

Thank you, what if we don't get it updated on time, is it advised to take the old one?

Take both. My fiancée got a raise at work during the petition process and I intend to bring both old and new Affidavit of Support and tax income statements to the interview which should be after tax season.
