We are in the same boat my friend! According to USCIS my case was transfered to my local field office... I'm an August 2017 filer... I haven't even done my second biometrics 😌

We get the same message when checking the NOA1 WAC number.  Reading through the big thread on this topic, there seems to be a consensus that this may be a system glitch.  Regardless, we have subsequently filed the N400, so I am just watching the ROC out of curiosity.

One thing specific to the Detroit office, my wife recently went in for her N400 biometrics appointment and her extension letter was also about to expire.  I had set up an Infopass appointment for a week later to get the I551 stamp, but we said what the heck, let's ask if they can save us another trip downtown, and they were quite accommodating.  My wife completed her biometrics and was able to get the stamp as a walk-in.
