Changing Address - Have 2 Year Conditional GC

I need advice as I’m not having any luck in my searches, or USCIS customer service/website.

I have my conditional green card, and recently submitted an AR11 online as we moved from OH to AZ. I received and email saying my request was successfully submitted. It has been 5 weeks, I call customer service they tell me if I need to know what address they have I need to go to a local office ? That seems very unnecessary and a waste of everyone’s time.

What is is the general process ? Is this right ? Should I not get some kind of confirmation ?

I am the beneficiary originally from UK !!

01.04.19: I-751 Received @ Phoenix

Usually you get a note from USCIS by snail mail, stating they have received your address change.
I just did that myself, and it took about 10 days to receive the letter.

Yeah, that's way too long!
I would try calling again to having them resend your confirmation letter. Seems like it got lost in the mail maybe?

I don't know why they say you need to make an info pass. I was at my local office for biometrics 3 days before moving and have asked if I can do the address change there, and they said it has to be by AR-11. Ok... they also told me I don't need to change my husbands address, what was actually wrong.

Try a few calls, maybe you end up with someone who knows.

@geowrian? Do you have an idea what to do?

Good luck!

Tier 1 representatives can't see inside your case/cases. They can lookup your case, but only see the basic information about the status of the case and relevant parties.  They might be able to see an address - I don't know their system - but I would be doubtful they could relay that information in a call. While (I'm assuming) your case doesn't have anything fishy going on, I would assume it's also there for security reasons. They don't want anybody with a case number (and maybe name/DOB) to call in and find out information about somebody's case, their address, etc. (i.e. a scorned or abusive ex or similar).

A tier 2 rep/officer may be able to provide more information. It's worth a shot at least. And as noted above, you can request that they resend a confirmation. After that, it's off to an Infopass appointment...but that's the local office and shouldn't be necessary.

Nothing fishy we’ve got this far pretty easy!!! This is the second change of address though. We went to Ohio and it didn’t work out so we moved back to Arizona. I have been told twice to make an appointment with local office /infopass bht again, seems very unnecessary when I just want to verify my address. I have a year until my conditional is up.

kinda thinking to just leave it and they will get in touch when ready. Good or bad. It’s not like they don’t have it.

Or submit another one ?

haha I didn't imply anything fishy was going on here. But procedures are in place to address those types of cases, which is why just calling up to verify the address may not be possible. Did you get in touch with a Tier 2 representative/officer?

But since you haven't submitted ROC yet and already have the 2 year GC, I don't really see the issue. If you were midway into ROC or something, then I would suggest not letting it sit as an RFE or interview notice  (or denial even) might be missed...but since you're not waiting on anything from USCIS, the only thing you may miss (if they didn't update your address) is a reminder to file for ROC in the 90 day window.

I don't even know what the ROC is - I haven't researched this far, excuse my ignorance!

I will try a tier 2 rep.

I just feel it shouldn't take this long.. no one else has experienced this?

Hopefully the USC spouse as your sponsor filed I-865 for change of address.

No but we didn’t need to before and that was before I even had my GC.

Well its it’s not like they can screw me over for anything. I did what they wanted and I have a confirmation of request number so really it’s in their hands .... I have a year until my conditional GC expires.
