Hi,

My husband and I have applied for SSN but for some reason the SSN card wasn't delivered as it is sensitive. I guess my name wasn't registered to receive mail. When we tried to inquire about it they are not able to issue it since my K1 visa is already expired and we still didn't apply for AOS. My concern is this: Can I still get an ITIN for tax purposes, the extra money for exemption could help a lot with the AOS application. And I am a bit confuse on what to to check on:

Reason You’re Submitting Form W-7

a. Nonresident alien required to get an ITIN to claim tax treaty benefit.

b. Nonresident alien filing a U.S. federal tax return.

c. U.S. resident alien (based on days present in the United States) filing a U.S. federal tax return.

d. Dependent of U.S. citizen/resident alien.

e. Spouse of U.S. citizen/resident alien.

f. Nonresident alien student, professor, or researcher filing a U.S. federal tax return or claiming an exception.

g. Dependent/spouse of a nonresident alien holding a U.S. visa.

h. Other.

I am clueless on these matters. Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a great day.
