It sure could. It will be interesting to see what he has in mind. Lots of pressure from both sides.

I feel that he is going to try to pander to the Left to try and sway them over to him. But as we already know a large amount of people on the left already have a rock solid opinion of him and no matter what he does today will change that at all. But it could change the people like me on the Right and what we think of him.

It’s a tough predicament, you can’t please everyone no matter what you do. The mass shootings are a big issue, and when they involve children, it draws outrage.

I don’t see any way to keep both sides satisfied, any gun legislation will be too much or too little depending which side you are on.

I think the ONLY thing that the Right will agree on is the age limit to 21 for AK's and AR's.

I know I would also agree to removing guns from someone that has received due process and has been determined to be suffering from mental instability.  We have a bill in Michigan that suggests that along with trying to expedite the judicial process and allows for penalties for anyone making frivolous complaints (i.e. jilted spouse, etc.).

I would agree with as well because CA started doing that as well a couple years back after the Santa Barbara shooting. My former coworker just had his firearms taken in January because he had a mental break and had to be committed for 2 days because he thought he was still in Somalia. So now he has to go in front of a judge in order to get them back.

The bill prohibits the “sale, transfer, production, and importation” of semi-automatic rifles and pistols that can hold a detachable magazine, as well as semi-automatic rifles with a magazine that can hold more than 10 rounds. Additionally, the legislation bans the sale, transfer, production, and importation of semi-automatic shotguns with features such as a pistol grip or detachable stock, and ammunition feeding devices that can hold more than 10 rounds.

Cicilline’s legislation names 205 specific firearms that are prohibited, including the AK-47 and AR-15.

Can’t wait for the lawsuits to start on this one.  Not that I ever shop at #######’s.  But someone WILL push the issue, I imagine.

Doesn't stop most kids from getting alcohol, but whatever.  I suppose the fake ID business will take off now.

I assume background check would include age, I have only ever bough ammo at WallyWorld, limited selection of guns, many shotguns and a few rifles.

A wall won't stop all people from entering the country illegally, yet you want to spend billions building one. Like it or not, it appears many people are starting to recognize the issue with young people and firearm access. Unlike the wall, I guess time will tell if any of these firearm restrictions help, because they appear to be moving ahead with this.

Real ID should help with that.

Every time a new ID was brought out we were told it would combat fakes.  Always someone willing to do whatever it takes to defeat it.

So you are now in favor of a wall?
