It seems this is always brought up when defending the 2nd amendment.  Don't you think that if it ever came to that that some of the military would be on the side of the revolutionaries?  Beyond that, have fun getting the 2nd amendment repealed.

Reality is the fact that privateers in the US revolutionary war captained 600 ton 26 gun vessels capable of bombarding entire towns. These were privately held vessels. While I'm not advocating for private ownership of nuclear weapons (or any ownership of nuclear weapons). You might be surprised by how much firepower was in private hands.

What's funny is my wife was wondering exactly that the other day. I had to tell her that here in the USA a 16 year old can get a license for a car and drive where ever they want. She was thinking they had to be 18 for some weird reason.
