House Democrats introduce bill prohibiting sale of semi-automatic weapons

The bill prohibits the “sale, transfer, production, and importation” of semi-automatic rifles and pistols that can hold a detachable magazine, as well as semi-automatic rifles with a magazine that can hold more than 10 rounds. Additionally, the legislation bans the sale, transfer, production, and importation of semi-automatic shotguns with features such as a pistol grip or detachable stock, and ammunition feeding devices that can hold more than 10 rounds.

Cicilline’s legislation names 205 specific firearms that are prohibited, including the AK-47 and AR-15.

In California, they have just reintroduced a semiautomatic ban (without fixed magazine). The last time that happened it was 2013, Governor Brown (a Democrat) vetoed as an overreach. Will he do it again?

Wow.  I'm not much of a rifle guy.  More into handguns, but banning all semi-automatic pistols with detachable magazine covers a HUGE number of guns.  There goes all those 1911's and Glocks and .....

This won't pass at all and if it did I would personally run against my Congressman.

The bill won’t prevent you from keeping what you have, just won’t allow you to buy any more in the future.  I expect a massive arms sale if this moves forward at all, just like under Obama.
