Timeline

Hi There,

i am trying to figure out is there a certain period within which i should get a biometrics appointment?I called USCIS 2 times and both times i was told something completely different.The first lady told me 30 days, the second 90- it is quite a difference.

Please share you experience on the isue.

03/24/2007- AOS package mailed

04/02/2007- NOA1

05/02/2007 AOS transfered to CSC

06/09/2007 Biometrics done

06/11/2007 EAD card production ordered

07/03/2007 AOS card production ordered

07/7/2007 GC in mail -date on card 6/28/2007

I-751

4/21/08 - I-751 package mailed- regular mail

4/28/09 - Check cashed

5/6/09 - NOA 1 received

7/28/09 - called 1- 800 -.... put in service request

7/31/0 - e-mail from CRIS - no biometrics needed

NOW WAITING......

I guess it varies a lot. I had filed my AOS on 01/19 and had my biometrics 02/12. Some people are waiting much longer as you can see from their timeline!

12/16/2006 - Enter States thru Atlanta

01/13/2007 - Marriage

01/19/2007 - Filed AOS and EAD to Chicago

02/06/2007 - NOA that AOS has been forwarded to CSC

02/12/2007 - Fingerprinting in St. Louis

03/28/2007 - email notification that card production ordered!!!! (Day 68)

04/20/2007 - GC in the mail.....no more USCIS for 2 years!!!!!

12/29/08 - Filed I-751 to VSC

01/12/09 - NOA in mail

01/24/09 - received ASC notice

02/06/09 - biometrics appointment in Orlando

02/09/09 - touch

06/01/09 - approval letter in mail

12/11/09 - Filed N-400 to NSC

12/14/09 - Package arrived at NSC

12/26/09 - NOA in mail

01/22/10 - Fingerprinting in Orlando

03/08/10 - Interview in Orlando (passed)

03/12/10 - Oath Ceremony

Once they receive your petition and you are issued a NOA1 the appointment letter for the biometrics tends to follow fairly quickly. The actual appointment waiting times can vary quite greatly though.

Do you know if the beneficiary can go to Biometrics by themselves, or does the USC have to attend with them?

You can go by yourself, as far as I am aware.

Correct, there is no need for the USC to go other than for moral support (which isn't really needed either as biometrics are a simple process).

As proof of this, I went to my biometrics appointment all by myself.
