Hello All! I'm a newbie here! I just received an email from NVC that my documents are complete and they said to wait for an interview date that will be in Montreal. Anyone here had the same experience as me. Just wondering how long did you wait to get an interview date? Because i have a 10months old son waiting for me in the United States. I hope someone could answer my questions! Thanks and good day to all' 🙂

Wow looks like we have very similar journeys Jean.

I dont have a case complete yet, but should be done within a couple of weeks and then I am right beside you waiting for MTL interview. Cant say I know how long it will take for MTL to schedule, I've seen everythign from 90 days to 15 days posted here. If you find some concrete answers I'd love to know.

See you down there!

Congratulations.

I have a question regarding immigration documents. Since you have just completed DS260 alongwith documents you will be able to reply.

My daughter US citizen has applied for my immigration (mother) to US. My case is now with NVC.and I am nearing filling DS260 .The NVC has appended a list of documents to be sent to them which fall in two categories:photocopies of supporting documents and affidavit of support related material.

In the list of supporting documents are police clearance certificate, birth certificate, marriage certificate etc.

My question is

1. whether these documents pertain to me( the beneficery) or my daughter who has filed the immigration petition ?

2. If these pertain to me, then how do I supply my birth certificate as it is not available but I have school passing certificate, my passport which carry my date of birth. Whether these will serve the purpose.

3.Do I need to supply my marriage certificate as my daughter is petitioner. How come the marriage certificate comes in picture.

I will greatly appreciate your response.

The supporting documents relate to both you as the applicant and the petitioner. The instructions are clear: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/collect-and-submit-forms-and-documents-to-the-nvc/step-5-collect-supporting-documents.html

If your birth certificate is not available, an affidavit from someone older than you that attests to the knowledge of your birth and your school certificate (with the birth date on it) is sufficient.

Yes, if you are married - your (applicant's) marriage certificate is required. Check the link above!
