I literally just for a mail from USCIS. i was so excited to rush and open it. weirdly, the letter looks like just  a duplicate of the 1st extension letter. but in 2 pages. nothing really different just extra words and bullet points. the letter also tells me about having to do biometrics and wait on the paper. but i did all that already. so this letter was just adding to the more confusion of this process. anybody else got something of that sort?

Hi Guys,

What does, "New Card Is Being Produced" mean? Is it a replacement card for the old one or a new card being produced for 10 years?

Thanks

They never produce a second 2 year green card when first one expires.

So the new card being produced is your 10 year green card.

Would be super nice if you put your timeline at bottom of your post in the same manner as mine shows at bottom of my post.

Then everyone reading wouldn't have to ask you the several questions that they will have to ask you when you aren't showing this important info.

Date of filing and received is 05/08/2017 from VERMONT CENTER. right now my case online says received at a local office on April the 9th.

Just got off the phone with USCIS .  they said in a nutshell, the 1 yr extension expires from the date of the green card not the letter. she also said  for this type of case USCIS takes up to 21 to 46 months. she did the calculation for an estimation for my date (may 8th 2017) and she said i should expect something by March 08 2019.

she said since i have the info pass schedule i should still go in and its based on the people's desertion if they will give me the start or not and if its too early or not. she said the stamp is great for traveling and work and nothing to worry about. she was rather helpful and sounded like she was sure.

O. M. G!! -_- :)

Looks like you are a VSC filer, if your NOA was May 2017 then you can expect to probably get an approval in the next month. Your local USCIS will probably not give you a stamp in your passport until maybe 2-4 weeks prior to your extension expiring so try booking an infopass appointment closer to the date of expiration.

05-18-2022: Filed N-400 online. Received online NOA and Biometrics re-use.

06-03-2022: Interview scheduled (online notice).

06-10-2022: Interview letter received via USPS.

07-11-2022: Naturalization Interview

Yeh i thought the expiration was from the date on the green card all along until i saw some people saying other wise. i asked in this or another forum some time ago to confirm and they said it was the letter. my job also asked me recently about an update so that's what made me think more it was the letter. so, we will see. hoping for speedy positive news as because i have to travel end of June and i will feel more comfy with the actual card in my hand to travel with. but God is in Control! :)

The letter is most definitely an extension of the Green Card expiration and not the date of the letter so don't worry about that.
