Guys... you are sharing an article from 2015. There was no recent transfer from VSC to CSC, that wouldn't make sense obviously.

I can't explain why it was recently "reviewed/updated" (maybe someone just "touched" it on the backend) but it's not a new article....

Yup it happened in 2015 I think it mostly when website was updated or something which is showing 2018 bottom right.

The I-130 is the first step to sponsor a relative from overseas, what your taking about AOS is I-485 (with or without I-129/130) when the beneficary is already in the U.S. - 2 very different things.

 

From what I'm seeing I believe my guess is correct along with my friend who's sponsored over 10+ relatives the last 20 years.

I just think it's very interesting the fact that he checked 2 sources and one of them said that the case was sent to the National Archive in Missouri because it has probably been approved. Maybe that could be the case for all who have received the message.

Do you mean National Benefits Center in MO? 

 

(National Archives in DC has nothing to do with the immigration process)

Yeah, no doubt. That is a bit much. I suspect it is hyperbole though. One can really only sponsor immediate relatives, and then brother and sisters take decades to get a visa. Unless they meant, be a co-sponsor financially to sign the paperwork or to help fill out the paperwork. I really don't think you could bring cousins and aunts, etc. Eventually, each person could sponsor someone else and so on.  If people are sponsored through school visas, work visas, or others that is totally different way of getting here. Anyway, I really doubt that is possible at least the way they are describing it.

The more I think about this 'case transferred' situation, the less I think it's a bug ... and less that I think it's for real.

 

I'm now wondering if there has been some sort of upgrade of the computer system that processes I-751/CRI-89 cases. I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that the system used to process these cases is the Immigration Marriage Fraud Amendments System (IMFAS), which I believe is an old legacy system. 

 

I'm wondering if lots of cases have been transferred to a new computer system, and that the transferring of these cases from one system to another, has inadvertently caused the 'Case received at my local office' message.

 

These 'case transfers' began on February 25, 2018 and so far, there have been virtually no reports of any applicants receiving notice of transfers documents in the mail. At the same time, I-751 application numbers that have been invalid for over a year, have suddenly sprung into life. Also, if you're affected, and you check your case on the DHS website, the 'Submitted Date' of the I-751 is the same as the date when these 'transfers' allegedly begin, rather than the date you actually applied.

 

I know that someone will give me the 'this is speculation' line, and yes it is. I know, sit back, wait, don't stress, they'll get to your case ... :-)

The 'case transferred to your local office' merely means that the service Vermont and California service centers have sent notification to the local offices so that they can set up times for your bio.

 

Sure, I know that for most of us our bios were done long ago.  But the computer system was just in late February programmed to send these notices, so it just zapped out the complete list that was in the system, including all who had already done bios.

 

So now the system is in place, so new filers will be getting those 'case transferred to local office' on a regular basis.

 

And yes I know that a few have had their 10 year green cards approved after they got the 'case transferred' notice . . . but those people would have been approved anyway at that same time, even if the computer system had not been set up to send the notices.

 

All the speculation here reminds me of conspiracy theories.  :-)

 

For 99% of us . . . nothing has changed.

Got the same thing. Ask my attorney and she said they likely transfer to local office for an interview
