This is an important point.

I believe all of these messages about your file transferred to local office means nothing . . .

except that it is the local office that does the bio work.

So the point is the local office received your info (or actually just enough of it) to know that you will be coming for bio.

Now, of course, most of us have already done the bio work, so this is meaningless for us.  For a few who haven't yet done bios, they may be moved along to the bios now.

It is just a matter of the computer system finally catching up (after some reprogramming) and sending such info to us that should have been sent several months back when our bios were ready to be scheduled.

Yes, I know a couple of people really have progressed further and are supposed to be getting 10 year green cards soon . . . but some of them were due to receive anyway regardless of these mass mailings regarding 'file transferred.'  And there are always  going to be some who get 10 year green card extremely quickly for no known reason, just as there are some who get theirs extremely late.

Think about it . . . thousands of files being transferred . . . nothing more than a computer system just catching up with bios that have already been completed at local offices.

Today another one girl got paper letter with approval. She's February 2017 filer  (Cali) and got transfer to local office on 02.26.18. Looks like USCIS work on cases that was chosen randomly... idk

I just got an email in response of my service request for the missing transfer notice (CSC). Of course they said that my case was in the processing times. LOL...They didn´t get it that I wasn´t asking about the case itself but for the missing transfer notice and they didn´t answer that at all instead they said I believe it was outside of the processing times...Funny thing is that they have the missing notice in the header but the text refers to the processing time. What a mess, do they ever read those service requests at all??? Oh well....it was at least a try... Oh, and they said they are working on cases September 7th 2016!

Type of service requested:
 -- Non-Delivery of Other Notice

The status of this service request is:

On March 3, 2018, you contacted USCIS for an update on the status of your case, which you believe is outside of our normal processing time. Below is a summary of what we found and how the issue has been resolved.

Our records indicate that your Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, was received at the California Service Center on May 9, 2017, which is within the most-recently published processing time specified on the USCIS website. Although subject to change, we are presently adjudicating I-751 petitions filed on or prior to September 7, 2016.

Please note that your Conditional Resident status remains valid until a decision is rendered in your case. You can continue to work and travel during this time.

Hello,

I talked with a good friend who knows about the USCIS System and he went through a time when there are back logs and they send out files to local offices to get them adjunted and processed. He said basically what you are seeing now is them pushing the files down steam to get them processed as this years applications are going to be pilling up.

He said once you get the notice your file is being sent to the local office or it takes few weeks for them to recieve them.

Said there is nothing to worry about as its standard procedure, similar to how last few years they are moving different cases around.

Yes, this happened with several here.

What they do is hand the file to someone who goes outdoors, walks around block, then back inside office . . . and it is recorded as a new receipt.

Not true.

There is nowhere to be found any notification going back several years that files are moved to local offices, except the very few that are chosen for interviews.

Not saying it isn't happening now; but there is no precedent for it happening in  the past.

I will disagree as I have seen cases being trasnfered and he told me as well when back log happened in 2014 I-129(s) were sent to local offices to be adjunted.

Often times things move within the system and not reported out as an official announcement.

He and I, went to check case statuses and saw the next 350 cases (after changing last 3 digits from my case number) were all transferred to local offices. I'm sure they aren't going to call all those in for an interview.

We have seen a few cases right in this form whereas they recieved notice of being "transferred to local office", and then they get an approval I believe a July & April 2017 filer in this case - and few others without an interview.

I mean if we really look at CSC for example (which I think bigger transfers happening from there) they haven't touched anything for Jan 2017 (per the list in this form) and more files for Jan 2018 might have pilled up as well.

Also, for those thinking I went on a search on USCIS website and all, below is image showing I-130(s) were moved from Service Centers to Field Offices with Jurisdiction over the petitioner's place of residence - in 2012, and as another user said this never happened before, well below is proof. :)

This is what my friend was telling me that in certain years they just get blasted with cases and they can't keep up then they delegate work to other offices to speed things up. Also, with the current president focuing on deportations and all, lots of changes are happening.

I believe that with our cases being moved and already 2-3 people so far getting approved after transfer it could be a good sign.

Ok ladies and gents, I've been following this forum without actually having a username. I feel like i should offer my information too instead of just leeching.

I am a september filer also, received the february 26 case moved thing, then 2 updates on march 8 that my name was changed and date of birth were changed which is strange because i never did either of the two. Called tier 2 officer Friday, he said it's possible someone made a mistake on their end with my name and that's why the latest update could be them correcting it.

Today i noticed this message when I use the account log in website because the check case online one is still on the march 8th name change.

March 9, 2018

We approved your case

Read the notice we mailed you for more information

If you do not receive your notice by April 08, 2018, send us a case inquiry and select that you did not receive your notice by mail.

If your mailing address changes, update your address with us.

Now I'm not sure if this is an actual approval or just the case transfer was approved like I've read somewhere else. The message seems pretty clear with me but you never know. So now I'll just have to wait for the notice and see what's going on or even give them a phone call Monday.

When i was talking to the tier 2 officer he was saying that it appears from 2 different sources that my case was sent either to the National Archive something in Missouri and the other source said it was sent to my local office. He said it's either getting approved and that's why it's sent to the Archive place to be deposited or because the local office doesn't have time for an interview and i would have to wait another 6-8 months. Keep in mind that i was a divorce waiver filer. That conversation was yesterday, and today when i checked i saw the message above.

I'll keep you updated with the notice and thank you all for sharing your info, it definitely helps, i'm sure many more people use this resource without getting registered with a username and actually being active on the forum.

Sorry for the typos and such, i wrote this message quick.

First of all thank you for taking your time to provide that information, it helps everyone. It sure looks like an approval to me. You say you are a September filer, Which service center did you file at and which state do you live in. I just have a feeling this transfer to local office is probably not a glitch.
