At the very least a fresh set of fingerprints is required (even from one hand) for the background check that is required at every stage.

As it is removal of conditions, there won't be a set from some time within the prior 15 months that they are valid for. Something is fishier here than captain birdeye's dumpster.

 

(also a bit peeved that I have paid for three sets of biometrics since 2015, two of which have been in the past four months)

Somebody in the October 2017 thread wrote this in reference to the biometrics...

 

"When I inquired online and they sent me an email (this was before cases got transferred to local offices) they did mention some cases would not need biometrics appointment. -Thank you for your inquiry regarding an appointment to have your biometric images processed at an Application Support Center (ASC). We are unfortunately experiencing a longer processing period than what is reflected on your Form I-751 Receipt Notice for this process. Please know that your name will be electronically added to the appointment scheduler if needed. Some applicants will be able to have their prior biometrics copied into our systems and will not be scheduled for a new appointment. You will receive an ASC appointment notice by mail once an appointment date has been established for you if you in fact require an appointment-

And the funniest thing is whoever got them waived never got their bio fee back. They stated it on my waiver notice " even thought we received your fingerprints fee- money is not refundable". Just curious why would they need my bio fee check then? Lol.

   I just read this on the USCIS Archive News - I don't know when was this posted:

 

 

"USCIS announced last month that it is revising filing instructions for Form I-751 to require filing at the California or Vermont Service Centers. Until the form instructions are revised, any petitions filed with the Nebraska and Texas Service Centers will be transferred to California and Vermont, respectively. When USCIS enters data at one service center and later transfers the case to another, a Transfer Notice is sent to the petitioner advising him or her that the case has been transferred for adjudication and that they will be notified of the final decision.

The current transfer notice currently contains the following phrase: “CRI89 approved removal of conditions (I89).” That statement means that the biometric portion of the case has been successfully transferred; it does not, however, mean that the petition itself was approved.

While USCIS is in the process of changing the language in the transfer notice, a substantial number of notices have already been mailed containing the potentially confusing statement. Any petitioner who may have received such a notice should be aware of the following:

• At the time the I-751 was transferred, USCIS had not yet adjudicated (approved or denied) the case;
• USCIS transferred the case to the Service Center listed on the notice for adjudication; and
• If the petitioner has not received additional information from the California or Vermont Service Centers, USCIS has not yet adjudicated the case."

I think this is the key.  Apparently a newer system they have installed will allow prior biometrics to be uploaded into that system.

So it could be common now for second sets of bios not to be needed.

 

Another issue is one that some have raised that a 'fresh set' of bios should be required.

Last I heard, a person's fingerprints do not change.

 

I thought perhaps the overriding purpose of requiring new fingerprints was to see if the USA citizen was trying to get a different person through the system.

i.e.  Had decided to try to upgrade their spouse !!

Someone from November filers 2017 thread posted this today !!

 

" Hi everyone. Those transfers are legit, my lawyer just called and asked if i recieved an interview notice which i havent because they sent him 2copies. What the hill, why do they want us for an interview with all the evidence we sent.unbelievable. am november 21st filer.csc and mybstatus still shows transfered to local office feb 27th that was moved from 25th "

LOL! I thought the exact same thing about a petitioner trying to pass somebody else off as the person! Interestingly enough, my husband does such gruesome manual labor, they barely could get his fingerprints this time around. Fingerprints don't typically change, unless they're about worn off from working with dirt and rocks. You'd think they'd want to be a little more careful monitoring fingerprints?
