Hello everyone!

I`m sorry if you already saw millions of these questions about the ds-160 form, but I'm a bit lost in some part.

Do you have any immediate relatives, not including parents in the U.S.? - So, there's an option - fiance. Am I supposed to mention my fiance in this question? I asked some of the people who already did the form and also got approved - they didn't mention. And I don't get why.

Thank you for your answers!

Nope as far as I know fiancé is not an immediate relative.

Thanks a lot!

Why it was bothering me - cause the ds form has its own explanations:

Help: Immediate Relatives

Means fiancé/fiancée, spouse (husband/wife), child (son/daughter), or sibling (brother/sister).

Huh if it says so then just write it that way. I don't think it will effect.

because that's usually important in case of proving ties back home and about possibility of someone not coming back, but as k1 is already with immigrant intent you should just write fiance then.

ps_meaning I also need to change mine 😁

It says right next to it that fiancé is considered an immediate relative, so you should say so. However, it doesn’t really matter, because that question is more for non immigrant visas and the embassy trying to see if they have intent to stay without an immigrant visa. They don’t really care much about the ds-160 for K1s. Doesn’t mean you don’t have to be truthful. Always tell the truth.
