Does anyone have any information whereby I can tell if my application is going to be transferred to California? I've done a search and can't seem to find any way of finding out. I live in St. Louis, and my AOS NOA1 has a MSC number. I guess I assumed because I live in St. Louis, and a Benefit's Centre is here in MO, that I wouldn't be transferred, but would have an interview here.

Perhaps those of you from MO who had your AOS approved could tell me if, as residents, we are singled out as non-transferrable. hehe

I'm not applying for EAD or AP, perhaps that helps determine as well?

Any thoughts or information is appreciated!

If you signed up for email notification with USCIS, you will usually get the emailed notice about a transfer first before anything else. If you did not sign up for email notification, you may check your case status on the USCIS website. If it has been transferred, it will say so on your case status.

As to your question about whether MO residents are exempted from the transfer, I don't think this is the case. The transfers are usually based on whether or not a case can be adjudicated without the need for interview. In the early months of the CSC transfers, we theorized that they were transferring applicants who fell under the jurisdiction of District Offices that were backlogged. It is difficult to see statistical info to support this theory now since we no longer have a list showing which district offices the more recent transfers are coming from.

So, I guess all you can do is wait and see if you will get transferred. :)

An indication might be your local office. Look for people who applied from your local area. That is what I did and everyone who filed in Phoenix, got interviewed. You can click on local office and you will get all those people who are from that area. Look at their profiles and see if they got transferred or got interviews. It is only a possible indicator and NOT a certainty.

I think all AOS applications go to the National Benefits Centre initially (someone correct me if I'm wrong) so having an MSC number doesn't indicate whether someone will be transferred or not.

Thanks so much for everyone's replies. It gives me a better idea of things. Probably my best bet is just to wait and see for myself!

Thanks devilette for the link. If anything it gave me a good idea of how people don't fill out their timelines! Some people going back to 2003 and 2004, were approved, and didn't indicate if they'd had an interview, or if their case was transferred. It's SO important to fill in those timelines...can't be said enough.

Again, thanks for everyone's response!
