Please help!

I'm at the NVC process just paid the IV fee.

I will most likely have to submit my financial documents on march.

my interview will most likely be after the april tax deadline.

SO if i send my taxes for 2014 2015 2016 not 2017 since im planning to file for an extension and do my taxes together with my wife once she's in the US and has a SSN. will this be a problem at the interview?

i mean once im asked to send my taxes on march the most recent tax year will still be 2016 but after april it will 2017. HELP!!

Also someone please tell me which are the barcoded! cover sheets needed for the AOS AND IV PACKAGE!!!! Theres confusion everywhere about this.

your AOS AND DS260 are done online / no bar code sheet for that

Well on the document cover sheet the checklist they send you it says that I need to send the AOS package and the IV package and tell you to send barcoded cover sheet in front of all the documents. What I don't know is where is this barcoded cover sheet??

They give you the checklist within a packet of  4 papers after they process DS-261( designating an agent) .

The first paper is the "NVC welcome letter".

NVC will email you the cover sheet.  I would not plan on filing an extension.  File an amended return after your spouse gets here.

So if I file now as MFS I will have to pay around 1500 if I filed MFJ I would get a return of 2500. If I file MFS and pay and then amend and get a return how does that work?

Another option is to file and not pay.  Whether you pay now or not, you'll get any applicable refund after you file the amended return.  The amended return wipes out any late fees or penalties.

The FEE for the AOS is paid online... the IV fee is also paid online ... the DS260 form is completed online..

All documentation... financial relating to the AOS, ....and all required civil documents are sent with the appropriate cover sheet as provided by the NVC, and as per your submission method... CEAC, email, snail mail

Are these cover sheets the one you obtain by clicking "Print Cover Sheet" on the website?

you are married and can file married joint just do the W7 and apply for ITIN  now with these tax returns

IRS site will tell you how/ easy to do/ apply for SS number on the applicition for visa by checking the box for immigraiton to apply for u

still the I 864 and dS 260 are online forms

you will get a bar coded letter if they need futher documents / when they send a letter (or email ) to you to request the bene's criminal investigation reports and the supporting IRS tax returns to support the AOS / along with any other documents NVC needs

you don't have the bar code sheet yet

it is much harder to apply for an ITIN number while your spouse is overseas.

you need to have original or certified copies from the issuing agency, this would result in those papers being mailed back, so the most efficient way to apply for ITIN is if he has his wife's actual passport and she has signed and filed out the W7, they must have the wet copy of this, again resulting in a very expensive mailing from the home country.

I had my husband passport brought back with a friend, and the completed w7 also I mailed these off to texas to ITIN operations only for the USPS to lose the 2 day priority package that had a tracking number, it hasn't been moved or scanned since the 13th of Feb.

it would be much better for him to file MFS, and then not pay and do an amended return when the spouse has gotten the ssn.

There is a very nice cover sheet that is included in the NVC Welcome Letter that they email to you.  It includes a checklist where you can indicate which documents you included in the package.  There is a section for the supporting documents and a section for the AOS.  Note that not all documents are applicable to every application so you can select the appropriate box to tick off.  This is the only cover sheet that is needed as it has all the case number barcode that the version you obtain by clicking "Print Cover Sheet"

So you are saying file and don't pay what I owe??? Until I amend it? Or file and play and then amend and hopefully get what I paid + the refund? How does this work
