Hello...

I am about to send of my packet (yay!) but I had a last-minute question about additional evidence such as certified court documents and divorce decrees. I have both of those that I must submit and for my table of contents I am putting XX amount of pages like this (Petitioner's divorce decree - certified court copy (9 pages). Now, do I need to write: Page 1 of 9 and so on on all the pages of the certified copy?

Also, Do I need to sign and date the bottom of each page of the decree and court copies?

Thank you all so much!

T & M

This was an RFE for these documents?

If so and you have a case number, you need to put the case number and both names and both DOB's in upper right hand corner of each and every page

you can number them (may be helpful)

do not staple

do not paper clip

do not put in binders

make sure you put the bar code letter for RFE on  top

make sure you copy all documents sent to immigration and keep them all the way thru to citizenship

I'm sorry! No it is not an RFE so we do not have any numbers yet. If I number them (1 of 9, 2 of 9) on the bottom is that okay? I actually signed and dated the bottom of each page as well. I have two certified copies. Should I not have done that? Does that ruin the authenticity???

Thank yoU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay... I got two certified copies of my divorce decree because I read that they often ask the beneficiary to have a copy for the interview. So just in case, I got two! I am sending one with my completed I-129F packet this week, of course. My original question was about numbering the bottoms of the pages of the decree so they match with the (XX pages) listed in the Table of Contents.

I also said that I signed and dated the bottom of each page of my decree. Is this a bad thing that I did that? Will it ruin the authenticity of the papers? Should I take that decree out of my packet and use my second copy that I have?

Thanks

No, the divorce decree proving termination of marriage MUST be a certified copy from the court house. As I said, I purchased two.

Does anyone know if I'll be okay with what I've done?

Thank you so much <3

A legible photocopy of said certified document

Copies. You should submit legible photocopies of documents requested, unless the Instructions specifically state that you must submit an original document. USCIS may request an original document at the time of filing or at any time during processing of an application, petition, or request. If USCIS requests an original document from you, it will be returned to you after USCIS determines it no longer needs your original.

Really? Oh my!

lol

Well, should I sign all pages of my court documents that really DO HAVE TO BE certified? :)

Because I did already and I'm worried it will ruin the "certified" part of it all...

If you ever send an original of a document I would not alter them in any way.  Since the I-129F requires for the most part NO original documents , I don't think it is needed

This is a bit contradicting because it also says to sign each page.

For my certified court documents I had to get (not divorce) I got them - paid for them! - and I signed and dated the bottom of each page. On the top of each page I wrote my name, the section it applies to and Document A, B, C.... etc.

Should I have not done this?

Will I be okay sending these?

OK, thank you very much. Sorry if I got confused. I guess there just comes a point when you have to say "enough is enough" and if I get an RFE, then I get one.

Thank you so much!

And you won't at least not for this.  The most important is to have the required evidence in the submission
