which includes a $15 billion fingerprinting program that humiliates every visitor to America's shores

Well whaaa whaaa whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..... :crying:

And saying it hasn't caught any terrorists yet? So what? I bet knowing they will be fingerprinted helps keep them out.

You mean the terrorists whose ultimate goal is usually a suicidal death? Yeah, I'm sure they're afraid of the consequences of getting a fingerprint taken.

seriously, it takes them 2+ years to figure out whether or not some people's spouses are security threats based on fingerpints taken at biometrics (which have already been taken probably a few times prior in the spousal visa process). Does anyone think they really prevent terrorists from entering based in 2 minutes based on fingerprints at POE? Don't think so. Not our smartest weapon in the war on terror, methinks.

yeah right -- one of the 9/11 terrorists were let in on an expired student visa and a few of them were already on watch lists.

POE at many big US POEs is a joke for visitors. The last few times I've come through LAX, there were something like 3 people to process a thousand incoming passengers. Like I said, if they can't figure out whether my husband is a terrorist until something like 9 months after biometrics (some people 2+ years) I don't have much faith they're going to do it in 2 minutes at POE.

Fingerprinting doesn't strike me as the smartest use of our tax dollars.

fingerprints could be matched in other crimes. knowing that, they might be afraid to enter the usa on an operation, as there is always the potential for them to be caught should they have done anything criminal in the past. when caught, any operation they are on is blown, all those years of planning and money wasted.

Ok. Just wanted to see if you had any special insights. Based on that, I'd say it's a colossal waste of money.

Even if they ran them against international criminal databases of all types (they don't) I'm sure terrorist organizations who have been planning for years would not be sending ex-cons over.

I do not have a problem with fingerprinting as it can detect many forms of ID theft. Anyone wanted by the FBI can not simply slip through on a fake international id.

Then again permanent residents and people with US passports are not fingerprinted. I am sure the ACLU would have a problem with such measures..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.
