I was wondering that question actually...I have read somewhere that they process all sorts of applications, not just K1 specifically.

Makes sense to have people cross trained and also in case there is a backlog for a specific visa application and they need additional staffing resources for those petition types that are backlogged.

They are based on scans that people have done. They have tried to do so for December and January but there have been many validation errors and they can’t confirm numbers.

In theory it woukd make sense that the months that have fewer apps get processed faster, however,  we don’t know what other applications the adjudicators are also processing. Cr1, h1b, adjustment of status, etc etc.  If the adjusticators only did one type of application   all the time, then the number of apps would be relevant. Or if the number of all visa petitions across all categories  is also lower then yes in theory they get through a month faster but I’m not sure how they allocate staffing resources.

Very insightful. We are making conclusions without considering all the variables. The total number of visa petitions processed in a month would then give us a better idea. I would imagine they have monthly target numbers. Are those targets based on dates reached, petitions processed, etc. Hmmmm.....my brain starts to spin.

Naes has posted them before, so if you look through older threads you'll probably see them. I think there are in the ballpark of 3,000 for November and 3,000 for December (althought there was some mistake with the count I believe so it might be closer to 4,000). And for October I think there was almost 5,000.

Do you know how many August and September had? because I believe USCIS did 2 months in one! Maybe that could happen again!!! :)

Well, we do have some facts. Based on the data on the USCIS website, the California Center is where all K1 visas go and are processed. Our experts on Visa journye are able to deduct a very good estimate on how many K1 visas applications there are in a month.

Hey everyone,

I’m  Mark, I’m 40yo from Indiana and my fiancée is from Belarus. I’ve watched this thread from the beginning but never posted anything before. I was going to file for the K1 last September. I gathered the documents and filled them out. I had only met my fiancée once before. So I decided it would be best to visit my fiancée one more time before I filed it. We meet each other in Poland since it’s not easy for an American to visit Belarus. We spent last November and December together in Warsaw and it was great. When I arrived home I started on the K1 paperwork again, and mailed it off in January. So now I’m waiting like everyone else.

I actually went back to Poland last month to spend a couple weeks with her. If it looks like it’s going to be awhile until she arrives here, I will probably go see her again in June. Next time we will meet somewhere other than Poland and I’ll bring my daughter along. So, it’s been an interesting and stressful process in many ways. I’ve received all the typical negative comments and questions from my friends and family at first. Now everyone is pretty cool about it. I get asked a lot of questions from people I work with and other aquatinces.

My fiancée never had any desire to come to America before, so she never learned English. So she has been studying English and learning it as she waits for the visa. When we are together, I start understanding some Russian and she starts picking up some English. It’s actually a lot of fun because I end up creating my own Russian sounding words and she thinks it’s hilarious. It will be very interesting for her and for me, when she arrives in America.

So if there is anyone from my area or from a former Soviet country that would like to chat, let me know. I’d like for my fiancée to find some people to talk to that are going through or have went through the K1 process. Even if you aren’t from either of those places and just want to chat about anything, let me know. I work a lot, but I’m usually just surfing the web while I’m at work (like I am now 😂), so I have a lot of free time.
