We will see comments from the other members who has the same received date as you are.

Anyways, it’s just an estimated one driven from other VJ members timeline. Nobody can gauge when someone will be adjudicated. :(

Ladies, don't you worry! I would take VJ timeline as a sense of what month you should start expecting NOA2. Think about this - there's about 4000 filers monthly and there's only 215 of us January filers registered here on VJ. Visa Journey timeline is only based of those 215 cases (about 5%). Also, read the note here on VJ

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due."

So really, use the timeline more like a guidance end *estimation*, rather than a certain thing and don't worry about it moving back an forth ;)

Exactly! My timeline has been moving up and down like a monkey. It doesn't bother me because it's only an estimation. On average, people get their  NOA2 10 days before the estimation.

Anyway, does anyone feel USCIS is slowing down lately? Or is it just me? I haven't seen any significant approval for Octoberries. They seem to be stuck on 17th and I saw a lot of RFE too. I've been waiting for almost three months now. This starts getting on my nerves

@Suny & LeLe I see that your beneficiary is also in Brazil - how did you meet?

Also, I'm trying not to put too much stock in estimates - I'm assuming that POE for us will be sometime between September and November.

My first post - I'm the beneficiary living in Canada. Thought I'd chime in here as I've had a little experience with longer and frequent visits to the US to see my fiancé. I am currently in the US on a B2 visa visiting my fiancé. My B2 visa expires in May and this is the first time I will be visiting as long as I can. You want to be really careful using the word "reside" when on a B2 Visa. I'm sure you meant "visit" but unfortunately "reside" will raise eyebrows at the border.

Yes, Canadians can visit for a period of up to six months and I'm so very fortunate I've been able to spend so much time with my fiancé, but I am very clear when I cross the border that I am visiting only. I have never had any problems with  my extended visits to the US but I am always prepared with my proof of ties to Canada and always spend more than 30 days in Canada after my visit. I am chatty and completely honest with the CBP officers (agents??? what do we call them???) and I have never had any issues nor been asked to provide proof of my ties to Canada. When I entered the US in November I was asked if there was a marriage proposal in the works and I simply responded with most definitely, and proceeded to let him know I was aware of the K1 process etc.

So to answer your question, no, it's not ok for your fiancé to "reside" in the US ever on a B2 visa, but most definitely she can visit. I would just be prepared with much documentation to prove she's still residing in Canada and intends to return.

I intend on visiting my fiancé frequently until we receive the NOA2 and if it happens to arrive when I am in the US the celebration will be so much sweeter.

From what I have read, after the interview the passport is kept in Montreal and couriered to your fiancé's Canadian address at which time her next entry to the US will be on the K1 visa.

Here's hoping the next few months fly by and the entire process speeds up a little!

D&B - I was SOOOOO thrilled to see this posting from someone who I think is as close/similar to the details of my case as possible.

  • I am the beneficiary, Canadian.
  • Fiancee is from Nashville, TN and he is living there now where we will also live in the future.
  • We also filed our I-129F in January (receipt date is January 10, 2018 and NOA1 date is January 16, 2018
  • I am in the US right now on a B2 and have to go back before May 2nd as well.

I met my fiancee in Toronto as we both worked for the same company in different divisions. We started dating and then moved in together for what was just over a year in Toronto before our plans changed and moved towards the US. While we were living together in Toronto, he got a great job offer that would put him in Nashville, TN and we decided it was the right career step. For awhile, we were actually planning on getting married and staying in Canada so we were conscious that a lengthy "paper work process" would be needed but thought it would be in Canada and we could stay together since he was there on a inner-compnay work transfer Visa in Canada. But, plans changed when this too good to pass up career opportunity in Nashville surfaced. So.... now here we are.

Like you, I am currently in the US (Nashville, TN) with him as I helped him UHAUL his furniture and such up Feb 2.  I have been here on a B2 visiting/helping set up the house/etc since he had to go straight to work which included traveling a lot so that made him setting up his (our future) residence here difficult. It's been so great being together, BUT like you, I have to go back according to my I-94 before May 2 (I got a 3 month B2 I guess).

We are trying to understand and figure out how we can plan to see each other moving forward, i.e., how soon I can come back for a long-ish visit/what it's like at the boarder when you try to explain your situation, what pieces of evidence you should bring with you? I resigned from my job the end of January as I new long trips weren't an option, especially since the company also knew that i'd inevitably be resigning since my fiancee moved to the states and I of course would be heading that way too. It also made no sense to keep supporting a Toronto Condo (prices are insane...) So i moved my few things in to my parents who live in London, ON. So I'm just worried that since i don't have employment to tie myself to in Canada that the CBP officers/agents will be finicky at the boarder. You mentioned waiting 30 days in Canada before visiting again and then just being very frank/honest/explanatory with the CBP officer about the situation. I guess flying/having a return ticket would help? How did they respond to you when you came last? How long did they grant you a visit? I almost feel like if it is properly explained to the CBP agents/officers they would see that people like us are probably the least likely to "overstay" our welcome, or try to immigrate incorrectly since we are awaiting a K-1 fiancee and all the aforementioned could seriously jeopardize this lengthy, difficult and important process.

Sorry for being so long winded! If your interested, would love to keep in touch as it seems like our journey will align quite a bit!

I believe there are a lot of silent approvals going on, so the scans are not 100% accurate because the silent approvals do not reflect right away in the scans. October was a huge month with lots of applications but they are working through it.
