I agree. it is very difficult to visit from certain countries these days. my fiance was going to visit the USA for thanksgiving and Christmas holidays but they denied her a tourist visa. She was only asked two questions before they denied her, once she was asked "single or married" and she answered "Single", she was denied. it appears they believe everyone wants to run to america. She was going to try for a tourist visa again but i told her, we should just wait on the fiance visa process. it has been challenging being apart for a long time and even waiting much longer for the actual wedding day but all these too shall come to pass. Perseverance is important in this process.

Oh boy, I’m sorry to hear. The wait till he worth it.

I do feel lucky I was able to visit him over the holidays for a couple months but I was sent to secondary (I spent several months visiting US on B1/B2 in 2016, before I met my fiancé. Well I met my fiancé then but we didn’t start dating till after I returned to Australia 😆) and was advised not to travel again for awhile. I was set on fiancé coming out here this year but we’ve decided financially it will be better if we both just save.

We will all hang in there and our time will come ❤️ I’m so so thankful for this forum.

I don’t think it will?

I keep meaning to get fiancé to sign up to the new one.

You can sign up too. It doesn’t have to be the petitioner.

I'm very lucky then I just visited my fiance in the US. They didn't ask many things just normal questions CBP officer usually asks. He just asked me why am I visiting the US and I answered for holiday. For how long? Three weeks. Then he asked who lives on the address I wrote on immigration paper and I answered my fiance and he let me through.

I brought with me our NOA1, our K-1 application, my salary stub, guarantee letter from my employer, bank statement and my return ticket. He didn't ask any of those. From their profiling it seems I have no possibly of overstaying. My fiance is visiting me in May, then in July and for our interview. We can't stay away from each other for too long!

Oh, lucky you! When I was visiting, we weren't engaged yet but I had all those other documents and they said it was wrong, that I had way TOO MUCH EVIDENCE because a NORMAL TOURIST wouldn't need all of that  They did let me go after three hours of what I would call an "emotional torture" and I was just shaken. Yes, I was coming for whole three months allowed on ESTA and yes, it was a second time (but that's why I had all that evidence). My employer really let me go since I was working part time but they really didn't care about that. Also, they knew my fiancé had bought the flight ticket for me (and they were testing me wheter I'd admit it) and also how many times he'd been in my home country to visit me  Funny that I am supposed provide them some kind of "proof of relationship", like they couldn't look it up if they have such a good summary of my life :jest::rolleyes:

Oh I come from a country without VWP or ESTA or any other facilities but I'm lucky enough to have the B1 visa (I got it before I met my fiance). I travel to US at least once a year now to visit my fiance and I stay there 2-3 weeks only. I always have my return ticket with me and I never overstayed and I have strong ties to my home country which looks like obvious to the BCP because they never bother to ask further than usual questions. I might have looked honest and answered the question truthfully. I read many posts here about second interview or even worse and I was worried myself too!

it is very frustrating to see others get to come and go as they pls but certain people and countries are scrutinized.....very sad

I guess those who are scrutinized are those who are staying longer than one month because how they're going to support themselves while traveling or what company that let it's employee take long paid leaves? So they might not have a full time job and it means no strong ties to home country. Another reason for more scrutiny is those from high fraud country. Even when they have a full time job but it seems like they might abandon it for another job in the US, they might get denied at POE.

@LuFlolady as long as you have strong ties to you country and you can prove you have no intention to immigrate, you'll be just fine. Immigration law perceive anyone who's entering the US has intent to immigrate which then the burden of proof will fall on you. To me it's all started when I applied for the Visa which can be so difficult to get for some people from some countries including mine. Those with ESTA and VWP is not necessary free from the possibility of being denied at POE. We still can visit but then again it's case per case. This will be my last entry with tourist visa and I'll stay in my country til I get my K-1.

My Fiancé (From Sweden) is planning on coming over to visit June-August...  other than having a return plane ticket, bank statements showing he's able to support himself while he's here for three months, what else should he bring/provide? Thanks!

I understand all that but my fiancé has very strong ties he has been at his job for 10yrs owns and home yada yada and he was denied twice......

Good News Jannies,

October 2017 approvals are officially underway. They are averaging 21 days per month, this is great news, imagine if it takes the whole of april for October 2017, then May for November 2017 and June for December 2017. we could really see approvals for January 2018 starting by the end of June / beginning of July.

POE on September seems to be reasonable with this pace now. I wish for lots of approval coming our way!
