Wow!  Many CR-1s are complete in just a little more than that.  Our CR-1 was 13 months from filing to visa in hand...and my wife could immediately work and leave the country with no AOS required.

Yes - seems K1 visa processing time is around 10 ish months now. But we are not married yet, just engaged, hence the K1 visa.

Around 1 month of our delay was down to myself (beneficiary) finishing up work before booking interview/medical etc.

--- Beneficiary---

NOA1: 24 May 2017

No RFEs
NOA2: 09 September 2017
K1 received : 23 March 2018 :D

Next Step: Flight booked for 15 April 2018 - POE Washington Dulles

Hey I had a question. I have a NOA1 of January 5, 2018. Conservatively speaking what is Point of entry looking like based on current trends?

My NOA1 is Jan 8 so we have a similar timeline.  Right now they are really picking things up and I think best case scenario would be Aug 1st if they keep on moving at their current pace.  I think worst case scenario would be by the end of the year if things slow down.

I know!! This is the worst part. The talking and making so many plans but having to wait to start your life with so much insecurity regarding this process. And so much family to keep in the loop haha! I'm happy right now 'cause I'll see my SO in 19 days!

I wish you all the best as well. When you say August are you referring to NOA2 or entry in USA?

Yup! Almost 2 months down! It sometimes feels like we're waiting for a baby hahah how we count in days and weeks sometimes. Our NOA2 baby :D and our Visa baby! I'm sorry you've had to wait so long. The process is very difficult and stressful--especially for overthinkers like me who can get drowned in the possible problems/possibilities of what could happen. We have lots to think about regarding what we want to do for our wedding(s?), that's stressful on its own!

Entry.  Here is how I am coming up with that date. They started processing August Cases on February 5th.  They have processed as far as August 29th and I believe they will start processing September by March 1.  So by going at that same rate that means its taking 24 days for a month.   They also had President's day which they were closed.

In theory they would start October on the 25th of march at the same pace.

Then 24 days later they start November on April 18th

24 days from that is May 12th when they would start December

then January under that same pace would start January on June 5

You have case transferred to NVC, medical and Interview and get your visa back all for a Aug 1st POE

Again this assumes they move at the same pace.  And luck would have to be on your side because it can take them up to 60 days from the time they start to get a month finished and this doesn't take into account an RFE.  And this is just a guess who knows what happens with USCIS.

I just hope they keep this same pace or get faster.

Crossing our Fingers.. 🤞🤞

Haha yeah. For me with all the different countries, families, cultures, languages, money and time the wedding is kinda seeming more complicated than the K1 process sometimes. I start to think about the wedding and a headache comes in--better go to VJ to blow off some steam :P

This week in numbers;

This week August came as far as Received date 29th of August.

However, 2 days of this week was RFE only dates, so there were no Approval updates.

As we confirmed before too, these dates (and even dates where we saw updates online) usually means most approvals were/going to be mail only.

August is going stronger than any other month so far, giving me some hope that things will only get better (even if it is not by too much or too fast) from here on.

However always keep in mind, things can change so fast, and anything can happen during this process.

NVC backlog was a mystery for us and it happened suddenly, yet ended up eating 2 months of those approvals.

And things such as AP or anything on the way can also cause a backlog.

My advice is not make firm/unchangeable wedding plans.

On another note,  I saw about 10 withdrawals in the month of September during the past week.

The same movement happened one week before August started.

My guess is they are first updating those that will not get adjudication due to being withdrawn...

So September next week??

I personally can't wait!
