Question: How accurate or reliable is USCIS processing times on their site? I ask this because my fianceé sent in form I-485 for her uncle around December 12th and yesterday (Feb 8th),  he got a notification informing that they are ready to schedule his form I-485 for an interview. So less than 02 months, that's way less than the processing times available on USCIS'S site for any service center.

When you get noa2. Doing before that can just end up with you doing everything again

I read somewhere that you might want to anticipate the  NOA2 by sending the affidavit of support or any other documents that must be snail mailed ahead of time. This, of course would be in a case where you are not attending the interview with your betrothed.

I have a question. I'm sure it's a stupid one, but it's still a question. On the USCIS site where it tells us our case has been received on X date and we'll get a notice in the mail describing how they will process the case and to follow the instructions.

Fiance sent me a photo of the notice and it says 'verify your information above. Tell USCIS if anything is changed'.

Have we missed an instruction? If his information is all correct, do we need to do anything?

Don't take my word for it but I believe this is normal and that there is no action required on your part yet. I think you just need to check to see if the information is accurate and notify USCIS if there are any discrepancies

@Jlomartin we have the same date of filing. My fiancé filed ours Jan. 12, 2018. And we received our NOA1 last Jan. 19, 2019. Kindly update me how is it going for you? Thnx a lot.

Hi @ShyLucy!  Sorry for the late response.  We are just still waiting not much more we can do.  My fiancee (beneficiary) has been making sure all immunizations are up to date.  She also looked into how recent the criminal record check should be so she can request for this.  She also needs to request for her original birth certificate.  Also building her I-129 packet that she would need to bring with her to her interview (praying no RFE).  There is limited things we can do at this point.  Just be patient and enjoy the process. :)

Oh thank you for giving me idea. I am a bit anxious about what to do as of this moment while waiting for our NOA2. Since i dont wanna waste my time gathering things and documents needed. So you mean if i had been vaccinated i can already request for a record from my doctor? I am a Filipina and its worrying coz i am working here in hongkong. Too much time to spend on gathering documents. Tnx for your words @Jlomartin

I'm glad someone else is looking into immunizations already. I saw my doctor last week to start the process on figuring what is up to date and what isn't.. thought I might have been moving too fast.

I have never heard that...

but if you send the files too early they wont be up to date so it may actually cause them to ask you for newer ones. (Many people do not attend the interview it does not change the condition about files, the opposite, if you don't attend the interview the files should be more recent.)

you will send those files files to your fiancé , so sending them around the time of noa2 is the most advisable.

Just adding some more information. My fiancelée's uncle applied for his fiancée's AoS out of Massachusetts. Here are some estimates of how long the process should be. So his (+/- 60 days) was a lot quicker than estimated, way less than the estimated 293 days.

So does anyone know if these estimations for the AoS are off or what?

Maybe you know something about this @Naes?

For AOS it really depends on where you apply, and also how many people are on vj that uses the same place, because it has less sample get a good average.

but I heard some people are waiting really long lately. You can go to AOS page in forum and lurk around there

Right. I'm guessing my fiancée's uncle is just being lucky in this entire process of his. He applied for his K-1 in the end of Jan 2017 and got hit NoA2 at the end of April 2017. It took 93 days from NoA1 and NoA2. And now about 60 days for his I-485, while other people applied before him and still haven't gotten it.

Naes, when will January filers be part of the scans and stuff like that ?

I’m only new to the forums but judging from what I’ve seen in June/July/August it will be a few more months before we’re included. But I don’t know the whole process, just a guess. I’m sure Naes will have more accurate answer :)

I wish all of the January 2018 filers good luck!

I’m a January 2017 filer and I’m now in the US with my partner starting our lives!

We are getting married on Feb 28th so we are preparing for the rest of the dreaded paper work.

my advice to you all - The wait is hard, but use your time you have left at home wisely! Make lots of memories with your family and friends and save, save, save as much money as you can!

If anyone has any questions i’d be happy to try and help!
