Unfortunately, we will be getting an RFE because I did a stupid and left out our passport photos from the file.  I think I let the excitement get the better of me at the Post Office when we sent it off because I double checked we had each page just didn't check the photos. I realised 2 days later (the night before I was returning to the US) that we still had the photos in our folder. *face palm*

Hopefully it won't extend out time too much.

Everyone, double (and triple) check E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G.

Did you submit copies of the the beneficiary's birth certificate? My fiance is also Australian, I did the passport photos as well as my own birth certificate.. Just wondering if i would get an RFE for not submitting his also?

We sent both. I believe there were specific instructions on why we sent both...?

I believe, according got the i-129f instructions sheet, that proof of citizenship (i.g. passport biographic page, birth certificate) is only necessary for the petitioner.

I have a question. I'm sure it's a stupid one, but it's still a question. On the USCIS site where it tells us our case has been received on X date and we'll get a notice in the mail describing how they will process the case and to follow the instructions.

Fiance sent me a photo of the notice and it says 'verify your information above. Tell USCIS if anything is changed'.

Have we missed an instruction? If his information is all correct, do we need to do anything?

That's normal wording it is just asking if petitioner address or anything else important like name etc to update them.

When you get noa2. Doing before that can just end up with you doing everything again

Okay, thanks Naes! With their ‘we’ll tell you how we’ll process your case’ wording made me think there was something I was missing but it really is literally just sit and wait 😂

Yep it's wait... then a little more wait...and then maybe some more wait....this process will build all our characters into patient citizens and training us to go through DMV without losing our minds when we wait there...

It's a January filing. And the difference is you're in the month before, it can actually matter when they update processing times and start the month of January.
