Someone from my congressperson's office is going to send the inquiry request as soon as they're back in the office next week.  The person I just talked to said this kind of inquiry takes 30 business days!  We definitely don't have that long to wait on just the NOA2.  By the time we even hear back, it would be mid/late September and we would only have less than 2 months to complete the rest of the process by our scheduled wedding date.  Is this timeframe normal?

With uscis nothing is normal and you are 100 percent reliant upon their timing. There are 2 people on vj still waiting from June 2017. And others waiting from July, aug sept oct nov and December.

It’s been said many times not to make any plans because of possible delays. That being said you could receive noa2 Any day now but with uscis there are never any guarantees.

@GP1977 Totakky agree with your statement. I’m trying to keep the faith that it’s any day now for any news, and God forbid my application takes longer like the previous months you mentioned😭😭😭

any update with your RFE????

We will all get NOA2.  In fact, It is very difficult to NOT get NOA2 if you have read and followed the instructions.  Really, there are only a few  things that one can be denied NOA2 for - not using correct form, not making correct payment, not signing signature page (all of the aforementioned you get denied immediate) -  failure to show that you met within previous 2 years,  adam walsh criminal acts, not being free to marry.  There might be some others I have missed but the reality is they can;t deny you without a reason. I think more people probably get denied at the embassy stage then getting denied NOA2.  So NOA2 is coming for all of us, its just a test of patience.

Yes, got notified on 7/28 of RFE that was dated 7/27. I live in Maryland so I didnt receive the physical RFE till yesterday (although I called on MOnday and had them fax it to me). i sent it via priority mail and its scheduled to get there on saturday.   I would be happy to hear within a month but it can take up to 60 days.   One note for those that do receive the RFE -  they want you to put the orginal RFE that USCIS sends you on top.  I think they can do this because it has a barcode and it will be tied directly to your case and it should be faster processing.

Hi guys! I have a question. I include in my 129F packet the certificate of no marriage and birth certificate of the beneficiary as well as the affidavit of support from my brother .. I didn’t know those documents are needed not until the interview .. my question is on his interview do he still need to bring those documents or no since I already include it in the packet?

I would bring everything to be safe, including a copy of the petition. Afdadvit of support is not needed at uscis stage but will def be needed at embassy stage.  Bring birth certificates and certificate of no marriage, etc. also go to embassy’s page and read the instructions for k1 interviews.

My noa 1 was on jan 8 old site and on jan 10 new site. We have no update on our case status and will reaching 7 months next Monday.

My fiancee phoned the USCIS today, the lady said our case was reviewed on july 26 and we are requiried to give REF. But they did not send the mail out yet. Therefore we will only get update on the web site when the mail is out.

At least it is an update, but they are very slow ><

You are already lucky getting an update and that they told you you will be given an RFE. Yes, you are considered one of the luckiest.

Some were only answered “still within processing time or wait for 30-45days for you to get back again to us”

You are right. I did not expect we could get anything update from the USCIS phone call

Quick rant!

So our lawyer, back in Jan still, forgot to send in my fiancees proof of citizenship. After we had received our case number she mailed in a supplemental packet to USCIS with my fiancees proof of citizenship and told us not to worry and they everything would be okay.

Today my fiancee decided to call check up on our case and the agent told her that there is no record of a supplemental packet in our file!!! Like really? It's like, now I don't know what to think. At this point I'm gonna be just happy to receive an RFE and no Notice of denial.

Sorry for the rant.

Don’t worry they won’t deny your petition. But yes, most likely you will receive an RFE.
