Okay so I put the service request in now for outside normal times. I spoke to a Tier 1 officer who created a service request for me and said it would take 15 to 30 days to hear an answer on why my case is delayed. He couldn't give me any new information unfortunately. I did request to speak to a Tier 2 but was told that Tier 2 would not be able to tell me anything special and that the service request would go directly to the specific officer adjudicating my case and they would give me a better answer then a Tier 2.  I hope that if I do get approved in the next week or so that the service request doesn't cause my case to go to NVC and bounce back to USCIS and be in a black hole because I have seen that happen a few times here.

Hello everyone,

I've been following this thread for the last two months trying to understand all about this long process and its been very helpful so finally I decided to create an account today. This is my first post :)

I'm still waiting for our NOA2 hopefully I will receive and update in the next days since I'm within VJ estimated dates. This waiting is killing me and everytime I read someone got approved I get more anxious hahaha but I try to stay positive.

Old website: Jan 16th (Received date)

New website: Jan 19th which is same in the NOA1 Notice Date.

Congrats to all the lucky ones and praying for all the ones still waiting like me to receive an update asap.:clock:

But does that mean that your case has been assigned to an adjudicator? At least that's good news, right?

Everyone's case is technically assigned to one. It just means the person working on mine specifically will be notified

I mean yeah that I know, but what I meant to ask is if your case in the hands of the adjudicator that's gonna process your case.

I thought that's the same person? Unless I am mistaken. If it is then I have no idea they didn't give me any real information

I am assuming that since my I-129F included a divorce (me), a few address changes (my fiance, 1 year leases), and pictures from 6 of our trips together, my case will take a bit longer to go through. I followed all of the guidelines and the photos that I sent showed me with his family, friends, facetime with my son, etc. We will hit 200 on Saturday, but getting my email saying that they touched my case on July 28th made me feel soooooo much better. At least I know it is not lost and that it is actively being looked at. I am staying positive, and planning our next trip together!

I feel that our approvals are coming soooon!

Lol I think there's some kind of confusion here. Let me try to explain better. I know that every case goes to an adjudicator. I just meant to ask if your case is in the hands of your specific adjudicator.

And you said that everyone's case is technically assigned to an adjudicator, but is that the case? I didn't think it was like that. I thought it was more along the lines of ... An adjudicator goes into where they store the files and brings a stack back to his desk and works on them without them knowing who's file is in the stack until he scans it or does what ever they do.

By the way you said it made me think that our case is assigned to an agent as soon as it gets there lol.

But that's unfortunate, I thought they were gonna be able to tell you if your case was being worked on and stuff.

Actually the Tier 1 officer said that the cases are assigned to an officer from the beginning. He could be wrong though

Yes he can be.. I suggest give a call to USCIS again. And see what closes advice you can get.

Have you tried emailing the Ombudsman?

Not yet. I just remember him saying every officer is assigned a case from the beginning and that my service request will go to the specific officer involved in my case
