Mine is the same 12th/18th and I too received an SMS at 4:45 AM. Websites are still the same.  I'm kind of expecting an RFE because I'm a multiple filer. (Filed before in 2005 and divorced in 2014) instructions were contradictory in some steps. Didn't specify if name change documents were needed (my ex changed her last name when we married and her first name when she received her citizenship) I she told me that she discarded her old documents so I really hope this isn't an RFE.

You are not a multiple filer unless you submitted another k1 within the last 2 years.  No waiver is needed in your case

Is there anyone here whose k1/k2’s beneficiary is from Nigeria?. I’m wondering if my case is taking so long because of the country. I’m a naturalized citizen from Nigeria.

Fiance from Nigeria as well but im not a naturalized citizen though, born here. i have seen many approvals with Nigerian fiances. it will happen for us as well.

My fiance is from Nigeria as well. It took 189 days for our approval.

Stay positive, your approval is on it's way!!

This is what I thought too but my attorney wanted me to check box 5a anyway and describe the circumstance.  She said it was better to provide too much information than not enough.  Hope she was right.

I have a question. Why are people secretive with their case number? The reason I ask is because anyone can see case numbers on the tracker app. What are people afraid of happening if someone knows their case number?

My thoughts on this subject, is I think it would help if they weren’t kept secret. Since the case numbers are given in order of applications received. If you narrowed down the applications that are approved for each day they are received, we could narrow down which are left. We’d possibly get an idea which ones are next. How many for each day has been looked at. Since the way USCIS works is a complete mystery, I think any information would help.

For example, received date of 01/10/18 is numbers WAC100000 through WAC100550. Of the 550 cases received on 1/10/18, 100 of them are I-129F applications. The I-129F cases are numbers WAC100100-100200. Let’s say 20 people on VJ have been approved with a case received date of 1/10/18. My case is WAC100150 and I haven’t been approved yet. If I knew which case numbers have been approved then I could possibly narrow down when something might happen with mine. If only cases WAC100100-100120 have been approved.  Those cases are WAC100100-105, 120-125, 140-145, and 160-165. This would make me think that 4 different USCIS workers are working on the 1/10 received date. Each worker takes a stack of 20 packages and works on them. If they started working on the 1/10 date 2 days ago, then we could come to the conclusion that each worker can finish 2.5 cases per day. If they average 2.5 cases per day and my case is 150. The worker with the 140 stack should look at mine in 2 days. We would also be able to figure out how much time is spent for each received date. If nothing has happened with date 1/15, we could assume that they will start that date after 1/10 is finished in 3 days.

I dont know, maybe I confused everyone with this. If I did then never mind. I know that I can search for the case numbers and find my date of all the I-129F received on my day on the tracker app. It would be nice to know if any of the cases numerically close to mine have been approved. Like if the case before and after mine have been approved, then I’d know there was a issue with mine.

same sentiments. I've been wondering as well but kept thinking maybe it is just policy or something.

I'll chime in
USCIS usually doesn't care which country beneficiary is coming from (ur embassy interview will handle that one)
Cases take long/short based on the information petitioner put together.

If you give them a binder worth of stuff to go through, best believe ur case will take longer
If you have traveled extensively to countries (particularly on US radar), then they will check EVERY SINGLE thing and those checks take time.
if you have been married 5x before, they gotta check that ALL those paperwork to make sure they line up.

U get the idea. It's the details that matter, not the country.
Good luck!

People do not like their cases attached to them/the date as everyone would be able to know the status on their case. i.e. "left behind", etc
It is what is is- some people more sensitive than others
It's a privacy issue and VJ doesn't want to be put in a situation where someone potentially sues for invasion of privacy (that's really the big issue).
If you have been on forum for a while, you know that if you post information that is personal enough for one to track/find you, they try to put it down.

Also- if a case before yours/after yours is approved, that DOES not mean that there is an issue.
This is another reason case numbers stopped being posted. People become paranoid with what coulda woulda shoulda happen.

also FYI - USCIS says its "usually" processes cases in the order it was received. that's not an always statement

The email that a lot of people received today, I've received it three times now. But didn't receive it today.

Received it July 2: Said they last took action on my case June 18.
Recehevei it July 16: Said they last took action on my case June 18.
Received it July 30: Said they last took action on my case June 28.

They're doing something with it. I just don't know what they're doing. Seems strange though.

That's the thing, I did not sign up for that and that isn't checked on my account. Maybe it's an error or something. And July was the first month we received anything of this kind. From Jan to June we did not hear anything from USCIS until all of a sudden they started with these emails. And I'm at day 198 today (going by the old site).

Correction, I checked and I am signed up for the 2 weeks inactivity notification. But these notifications just started to come in this month. And like it happened to you, I know most people have this checked and still arent getting these notifications.
