Hi Everyone! Quick question for those who have been approved, were your VJ estimate dates for NO2 close to your approval date? Or were they completely off? 

I-129F Submitted: 16 January 2018 | NOA1 Received: 26 January 2018 | NOA2 Received: 02 August 2018 | NVC Received: 16 August 2018 | Consulate Received: 07  SEP 2018 | Medical: 24 SEP 2018 | Interview: 28 SEP 2018 | VISA in Hand: 23 OCT 2018 | POE: 10 NOV 2018 :joy:

When I first created my timeline my estimated date for noa2 was July 26th.  The estimated  date gradually changed to August 6th.  The actual date turned out to be July 27th which was 182 days.

Does most people use the receive date or the notice date from their NOA1 when estimating how long it has been waiting for the NOA2?  I have been using the receive date since that seems to be the one the USCIS app is using and it is easier to keep track of how many days its been since it shows you in the app.

01/29/2018:  I-129F petition sent to the USCIS Dallas lockbox via USPS

01/31/2018:  I-129F petition delivered and signed by USCIS

02/06/2018:  Check was cashed ($535); Received acceptance confirmation email and text from USCIS; Case being transferred to CSC

02/08/2018:  NOA1 hard copy received via USPS (NOA1 received date: 01/31/2018; NOA1 notice date: 02/05/2018)

08/09/2018:  I-129F petition approved (total wait time: 190 days from received date and 185 days from notice date)

I hit 182 tomorrow.  Hopefully, we get approved this week!

Bet on it to be completely off
The reason being that VJ estimate is based on people actually UPDATING their timeline promptly. Not a lot of people do that.
Also, it is an AVERAGE of how things are going. I believe right now, the average is 200 days-- very few people actually get it exactly on day 200.

 

It's more like some of y'all getting it at the 180ish mark and others at the 210 mark.

I got my approval on day 196 but it was a silent NOA so the day I actually got it in the mail was the day VJ estimate said so yea.
Don't depend on that timeline. It's just a helpful guide for where USCIS is working since their own websites are like months behind schedule.

People are not consistent on what they use
I believe VJ asks for Notice date when you make a timeline? But people really should be using their received date since that's the date that USCIS works with.
 

In reality, 2-3 days really doesn't make a difference in counting so yea

yea i figured as much but just wanted to get an idea on how completely off or how close it is to when we receive any type of notice..

Yeah I am using my receive date.  My receive date an notice date is 5 days apart though....still not that big a deal though I guess.

My approval date was Friday July 27th.  The actual NOA2 document was in my mailbox yesterday Monday July 30th (my birthday).  Very nice present from USCIS
