If it is this early and there was no online notification it is most likely an RFE.  If they know it is an approval it would show up everywhere online (website, phone apps).  There is nothing on the outside of the envelope that would distinguish between an approval and an RFE.

No it was the member that sent the picture of the approval letter later, sorry for the confusion!

It will happen.  Things like this sting a little though.  There are thousands waiting and there is no pattern to the approvals.  That is certainly not against the couple, though.  Sometimes it is better to be lucky than it is to be good.

Maybe they got it expedited if one of them is in the military or something like that?

They say they are not expedited and were really as surprised as everyone else.  I thought the same thing but they are claiming that they never even filed for an expedite.  Just 69 days to NOA2.  That may be the "big" change going on with the "new" electronic system that is just starting to be implemented.  Us old-timers are still in the old system while newer filers may be in the new system.  I am just speculating but it is possible.

Oh okay. I didn't know that it was not expedited. That's interesting though, it's probably one of things that happen like one in a million lol. Maybe they're files fell on the floor and they picked them up and put them along with the June or July filers lol.

I was reading that Q&A with a former adjudicator that you mentioned and they probably changed their process a lot. Bc that Q&A was from 2007 and in the Q&A he said he hadn't worked there for four years or something like that haha so that's a long time ago. So it makes sense that they would implement a new electronic system. I just never read about it. But then again, I also started reading into USCIS after I mailed my packet in. So I don't know anything lol

They “say” they weren’t expedited. They did put the approval online then deleted it. Who knows?

Being in military, one will be able to expedite the case?

Does anyone know if the requirement is just this simple or it is still case by case?
