Technically it's a January filer. The receipt date on your NOA1 is what establishes what month you are considered a part of, not the "new site" date that is just there to let you know when you are allowed to call and complain and maybe get a different answer than "You are still within processing time."

Sometimes that’s the most painful part. You can’t question about your paper if you are still within processing time. That’s 210days of waiting... My God.... :clock:

Got an email this morning that there was action taken on our case. Logged in and it was approved on Jan 25. I was thinking it would be a couple of more weeks and did not expect it this early.

Jan 24 old site.

I can't speak for your particular circumstance but this would be a good question to ask over in the China Sub Forum here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/94-china/

Lots of experts that can help. Asking in a thread like this one is going to be hit or miss and mostly missing finding someone who knows, as they are preparing for there Embassy in their country.

Also, in your profile box to the left, select "timelines" near the bottom. Then scroll down to "show similar timelines" and out pops a list of about 15 other ppl from china that you might ask.

Select your Flag from your profile and you will be taken to your Embassy's page here on VJ for additional information.

Next, have you scoured the US Embassy in China for a possible answer. How about a google search. http://www.ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-iv-visaapplyinfo.asp

I hope this helps. Good luck.

Thanks! I've cross-posted in the China forum.

I have spent quite a bit of time on that website and on Google, but haven't had any luck. It seems most China-based expats chose to use the CR-1 process, which did not seem to be an option for us here as a same-sex couple.

Is that because you can't marry in China without repercussions?

Yeah, we aren't legally able to marry in China. I suppose it might have been possible for us to marry in a third country that recognizes same-sex marriage, but it seemed like a bit of a logistical headache.
