Paperwork filed Jan 25th. Probably one of the last newbies to post here but good luck to everyone and I'm hoping for a (relatively) quick and painless process. :)

Same sex couple here, we met while I was on layover in Germany (I'm a pilot).

Good luck to you! :D

Hi all! Just wanted to wish good luck to everyone. Our NOA1 is January 11th. Otherwise I'm not too stressed about the process, because it has to end at some point, right? :D But we were initially planning to have our wedding in Boston the last week of August. Now that I've read the forums here, I feel like we shouldn't plan anything for August and just be happy if he even get NOA2 in 2018. All my friends and family are asking when to book their flights and schedule their vacation to come to US, it's really hard to explain to them the uncertainty that comes with this.

Ikr! Is like telling them you are getting marry. They start asking when is the date. You are like idk? They give you the weird look.

Unfortunately our wedding dates are decided somewhat by the immigration.

Last time we entered USA together. My fiancé told them that I'm his fiancé and they asked oh when is the wedding. So he's like july, and I said "hopefully"

Officer was like what do you mean hopefully?

me: well uscis is sure taking its time this year.

officer just knowingly nodded....

We have been unofficially inviting people to the wedding. But yeah they are always shocked by the "idk when it will be" answer. Now we just say "it is a surprise. It happens when it must happen". Lol!

Hi everyone, just wondering if any January filer has the same experience as ours. We got USCIS confirmation that our case was received on January 9 and we already have a case number but it's been over three weeks and we have yet to receive our NOA1 hard copy. I've been reading in this thread that some has gotten it days or just under a week for their hard copy. I'm glad for everyone that has received theirs but am getting worried why ours have not been delivered yet. My fiance is currently living inside the barracks at Fort Sam Houston, could it have something to do with the fact that when we wrote her address in the form we did not put her company name in the main page for address but only included it in the field of Additional information.  The reason we did this is because her company name was too long for the main address field. Any insight regard this would be much appreciated. Fiance is PCSing to a different location by march with a possible deployment which is why we're eagerly awaiting for the NOA1 hard copy to check if expedite is possible. Thank you so much for all your help.

At the message they sent to you it probably says if you don't receive your hard copy by "the date" contact them. I would wait till that time and then contact them. If it is not lost in the mail or went to wrong address, it will reach you.
