Someone just posted in the December thread that Wednesdays are usually pretty slow with little or no approvals, which I have not realized before  Well, on the bright side - we can take a day off from checking the website constantly :jest:

I had read a thread by an ex-USCIS employee who said that a lot of people work from home and take several boxes of cases home with them, and return them a few days later, all processed.  So sometimes there are days with low approval numbers because work-at-home employees haven't checked in their processed cases yet.

That is exciting to make it a surprise visit!! Who knows, maybe you’ll still get that approval and you’ll be there for interview!!

yes it would be nice to get the approval while we are together.... I plan to go in September so possibly will be there for the interview that's if we get a September interview. the embassy in JoBurg only have K1 interviews on the last Tuesday and Thursday of the month so if we miss August the next chance is the end of September.....

Thank you for this information...December 20 filer 😭 no answer yet.

There were 4 new approvals today for Dec 20, up to 16 approved out of 104 that show up.  (I didn't count rejections or people that pulled their request).  Hope yours was one of them!

Why not wait until the interview? That way you can go to the interview with him and fly back with him, that's more bang for your buck. Unless you're gonna see him in September and then go back again to accompany him at the interview.

But good luck!

@SilverMonk that is an ideal scenario however buying a ticket last minute to Cape Town is not ideal....lol So I will go in September and hopefully go to the interview with him and he will have to come back on his own...however I am still going back and forward because I would love to accompany him back to the USA the other factor is that I will only have 2 weeks stay with him so I have to plan it wisely you know the good ole USA vacation in fortune 500 companies :(  however I am hoping whatever I choose to do I will get the best bang for my buck :) plus I want to hand deliver the AOS I tried scanning it and its not a clear copy and to send it is very expensive.... I know I have rambled a lot in this msg but I am trying to think through all of this at the moment and make the best decision lol

My name is''''' Your message to Congressman Kind was forwarded to me because I handle the immigration casework in his office.

I would be happy to check with USCIS regarding your I-129-f petition.  We will need your written permission to do so.  I have attached a
Privacy release form for you to complete and sign.

You may fax or scan/email the completed form back to me.  My contact information is listed below.   A copy of the receipt notice from USCIS

I thought that you can contact your congressman once you can say "there's a lot of people who filed after me and they are being approved, I am worried that I am being skipped over". And that is not the case for us yet. I mean, you can contact your congressman anytime you want, it just might be too early now. Today marks 190 days for us and I know approvals come around 200 lately... I would give it a little bit more time and other people being approved so you have something to refer to.

We did it a month ago. The "permission to do so" and the whole thing this employee said is what's written on any congressman website and they also have a PDF form for data release that you can fax them. Also, all the lawyers I know said a lot of people tried to involve congressman before 7 months however there wasn't one time when it actually speeded anything up

It’s almost the weekend, guys! Do something nice for yourself. The best thing we can do is look after ourselves in this next stage. It’s always a slow start when they begin a month but never fear, we will rain approvals one day soon!

I needed this inspiration as I toy with dates to suprise my fiance I dont want to book the flight and we get approval and can get an end of Sept interview which is when I plan on being there but I dont want to miss each other because he would have to fly to Joburg for the interview....ahhhhhh Decisions decisions lol Have a great weekend
