Hopefully the scans or approvals posted by people will show us what date in January, they are on and how they are progressing.

unfortunately I think these are late December filiers that are going by the new site I don't think January has officially begun yet

Do you use old site or new site received date for your scans? In my case tracker app I’ve seen case from January 8 approved.

Everything in the scans is based on the received date displayed in the old website.  If you will message me with the case number I will verify NOA1 date.

Ok, I have double checked.  It was approved after my last scan.  It will be captured in the next scan.  Old website is showing it has been approved and the NOA1 date in the my database is 01/08/2018

Thanks for checking. Quite a pace they have! It’s all so suspicious 😒 and now there were also Jan 24 and 26 approvals? I believe those are expedited cases.

50 approvals for December? or January? omg... I am getting so consufed now.

Sorry, don't mean to confuse by over analyzing the data.  Those 50 are today's approvals based on the scan run at noon.  They are mostly approvals for December NOA1 dates with 12/22 having 14 approvals.  Only 1 for January.

I ran the scans but it looks like only the January 2nd approval can be substantiated. I think it is a matter what date is being used as NOA1 in people's timeline.  I can verify specific cases if someone want to message me with a case number.

The issue is that the Visa Journey instructions state to use the NOA1 Notice date on the timeline, but the scans are using (out of necesity) the NOA1 received date.

Yes, I received approval today with my timeline for NOA1 indicating Jan 02 (Notice date) as instructed by the VJ instructions.  My received date was Dec 28th.

But, I do consider myself a December filer, as I filed (i.e. sent) my petition on Dec 26, 2017.

The "trick" is to compare the number of days between the timeline "sent date" and "NOA1 date" and you can make a pretty good guess whether the NOA1 Notice or Received date was entered in the members timeline.  (Both dates appear on the NOA1 form letter).   If the gap is 2 or 3 days, the member probably entered the Received date.   If it is closer to a week, then it is likely the Notice date (per VJ site instructions).    If the gap is greater than a week, then it is likely that the VJ member entered the day they physically received the NOA1 in their USPS mailbox.

I keep getting similar case updates on the app, but all of them are from the Philippines or Thailand ( December Filers), in that order. So i'm guessing that is where most K-1 visa applications are from. That being said, are petitions from those countries analyzed with more scrutiny in order to prevent marriage fraud or is it analyzed normally, just out of curiosity, its not my case.
