Just found this new website which says February 2 and January 30 on the old. I got the California processing center. I'll be visiting her again Sept. 1-16 would be nice if the interview fell in this range but I'm doubtful.

I'm January 19/24 and I'm planning the wedding for Sep 29, your post makes me think I'm making a mistake haha. But here in Ukraine, we don't have big waiting time for the interview, so not losing hope ;D

Oh, I did have one question I wanted to ask: in terms of booking/arranging the medical exam, I can only do that once I actually receive NOA2, right? I've looked on the USCIS website and it says that, but I just want to confirm with people who have actually been/are going through this.

Well, yeah...my friend from Ukraine got her NOA2  on April 29th (after exactly 6 months from NOA1) and she had her visa at the beginning of May. It takes on average 24 days for the docs to make it to Ukrainian US consulate, so I figured if everything goes well and I get approved by the end of July I should make it there by September. We've been apart for too long, I can't get my tourist visa and my fiance is working and can't get a vacation rn.

A little backstory, I've been traveling the world for a while so it takes me roughly 3-4 days to pack up my life into a suitcase and catch the first flight haha. I do realize now it might be too optimistic on my part to plan the wedding for so soon, but we're making all the arrangements so they can be moved just in case.  Also, I really hate the idea of not working for a few months while waiting for my work permit so that's why we want to get married and file everything asap :)

Any other brave optimists planning their wedding for this year? LOL

Hello everyone. January filer here. I'm the beneficiary, my fiancee is the petitioner. Our file was received on January 29th 2018 and we've just been sitting it out waiting since then.

I'm not sure what else to say here. I'm in/from the UK, and frankly I have good days and bad days re: waiting for this thing to be processed. I find myself quite lonely back in the UK, missing her deeply and despite my best efforts not to, I can get drawn into reading all of these random websites, worst case scenarios and horror stories and make myself a bag of nerves. I really need a new hobby. So it's nice to find this community. You all seem really supportive and genuine. I imagine it's what I need.

For anybody who's interested, and for the purposes of me rambling, here's a little backstory:

She and I met through Facebook in June 2016 and when I say we hit it off immediately, I couldn't be any more truthful about it. Since then it feels like we haven't stopped talking to one another. She is from and lives in Indiana, and by October 2016 I went over there for the first time, and we entered into a proper/full-time relationship. She came to the UK for Christmas and New Year a couple of months later. I went back to Indiana in March 2017 and we got engaged. We already knew that we wanted to spend our lives together and although we knew it would be difficult with the distance (and having zero knowledge of the K1 process then) we felt so strongly about each other that this symbol of commitment to one another was what felt absolutely right.

Since then I went back in May 2017, we went to Prague together in July 2017 and in a big move, I went to Indiana from October 2017 to January 2018, and again from February 2018 to May 2018. Now I'm back 'home' and that's about us up to speed.

As I'm sure many of you can relate to/will understand, it's the waiting that gets to you. I feel like my life has been on hold for a while now, first with waiting to compile the petition, then compiling it, and now the process itself. Sometimes I just really work myself up into a lather worrying about what can go wrong (I'm a born worrier with an over-active imagination, which is a deadly combination). Ultimately I tell myself that we sent absolutely everything we needed and more. The financials are sound, we sent photos/boarding passes/passport stamps, all of our details are correct and in order. Neither of us have been married before or have children. So it really is a matter of waiting, but as you will all know, there are good days and bad days when it comes to morale.

I'm just so keen to move onto this next chapter of my life. We have so many plans for our future, I plan to take up teaching in Indiana and I never thought I would have a connection like I do with her. I feel like a horse waiting for the stable door to open, because I just want to get up and running. The day things are confirmed and ratified will be the happiest of my life (until I get married shortly thereafter!).

Anyway, I imagine I'll be around here a fair bit. Thanks for the space to rant/explain etc and I apologise if any of that was boring/needless. I don't really have anyone to talk about the process with here, and I save my fiancee from talking about it too much lest it frustrate her too (and she has her own stresses and busy times back in Indiana).

Cheers all, hope to make some good connections here.

J.

Hi J! - I understand the frustration, I think everybody does here too. The wait is the worst and worrying in inevitable. I myself worry because we forgot to put in intent to marry statement but we did put in our wedding plans so I'm just hoping here not to get an RFE. We already set a wedding date nov 10 and we are not even sure if we will make it. Talking to venues/vendors is really hard, imagine the stress. LOL.  :)
