My electronic and paper copy of NOA1 have different dates, so I haven't been totally sure which one to base it off of - BUT I've been mostly following the app. According to the app, today marks 170 days! It's bittersweet because it feels like a small victory making it this far but of the course the wait has been tiring.

We have a visit in ONE WEEK. Luckily, it's quite a long visit so we have our fingers crossed we'll receive NOA2 while we're together! ^_^

Hang there everyone, we get closer and closer as each day passes.

Hello everyone, I'm following this timeline http://harveysollano.com/USCIS/uscisScanSummary.aspx   (thanks @kennharv) and I'm trying to understand, are they approving like 0.5-10% of the petitions that came on a day and move forward? What happens to the rest of the petitions?

I think that they are still working primarily with finishing up with November.  I don't believe that they work on one date and move on.    You will continue to see approvals for December 1st as other dates in December will also be processed.  December is the first month that I have worked with so I'm not sure of the overall percentages that are typically  processed for each day.  I understand that there are also cases that get approved that do not show up on the USCIS website.  In general I think you get to see that progress is being made in the month and that in a few weeks we will see some approvals for January 2018 filers.  People with a longer history of tracking this data may be able to give more insight as to what to expect.

They don't go in order, though most months (except November) they generally start at the beginning and work towards the end, but they never seem to even come close to finishing one day before starting the next. I believe they are all just thown into boxes when they are submitted, people grab a box and start working. Some people are slower than others, some go on vacation, get sick, etc... and that box will sit on their desk until they come back. It's all a guess really, but watching past months, there will be some who get their approvals way before others, even some that are after you. It's all seems to be somewhat random, unfortunately.

If you go back and look through the November, October, September threads, you can see where nightly scans were posted up in charts and see what I mean.

Its probably going to be another month until January is touched it appears

That’s my expectation, too. I’ve also stopped looking at my timeline as it’s moved all the way back into August. I know it’s not an accurate, exact thing but it is a little disheartening.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Age is not a factor. I am 39 & my fiance is 43. You can emigrate at any age.

At this stage the background check just involves checking databases in the US & some international (like Interpol) for any record of you. Also they may check social media sites attached to your name to see if you are affiliated with any groups or ideologies they consider against the US.

No one from January has received an NOA2 yet but we are hopeful it will be very soon!
