I wrote my congressman last week and asked them to help me get my case adjudicated within the 5-7 month time frame, and they actually called me this  morning and told me they will contact USCIS on my behalf!!!  I was actually surprised they called me back since I just hit 150 days today, hoping they can at least help me get my case adjudicated on time, not expecting early, but I don't want to be one of the many who are waiting over 7 months either. The guy that called me was super nice and said they usually hear back from USCIS within a few days but to give it 30 days if I don't hear back to call their office for follow up. I will be visiting my fiance 7/4-7/16, maybe we will get an approval by then and can celebrate together!!!

Hello! We're at California center as well, would love to have our processed speeded up...did you email the congressman? Would you mind sharing details on where and what to write?

We are making a tough decision right now, trying to schedule our wedding since we will have people from literally all over the world attend....I realize it could be a really bad decision but if there's any chance to fast-forward the approval we'll go for it.

Thank you!

I went on this site https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative to find my representative, mine is district 28 in California so I went on the website provided for him and there was a form for USCIS case inquiries I filled out, printed and signed, I faxed it and emailed it to the 2 admin contacts on the form itself. The form is a release form allowing the congressman's office to contact USCIS on your behalf. I figured it doesn't hurt to try now that I am at 5 months.

I already told my fiancé about it. And i have to agree that asking for help from the Congressman won’t hurt us. Atleast we give it a try. 👍👍👍

I agree, I told my attorney today and he said I did the maximum, that these cases used to take 3 months now 7 months is the average, all we can do is wait, but now that I know I did everything I can do to get my application moving I can relax a bit.

We are getting closer each day. We will be hearing anytime soon with our cases.

What I am only praying and hoping is that they will approve us in 5-7 months time frame. It’s just so frustrating reading some other vj members waited for more than 7mos. :cry:Patience is really a virtue in this whole journey.

Hey all! Popping in from the November thread. I see people starting to get anxious and just wanted to say be patient... if you're getting worked up already at day 150, it's going to be a long 2 months. 200 days seems to be the average right now, with some lucky folks getting approved around 180 and of course some waiting 210+.  USCIS website states that November 9th is the "Case Inquiry" date right now, and your congressman/senator may or may not be that helpful until that date gets closer. USCIS will most likely not be helpful at all until it's closer.

I'm not trying to discourage anyone, just saying... pace yourselves or the anxiety is just going to grow.

Relax. Get your house ready for your fiance, get yourself ready, etc...  try to stay busy!

November and December filers want it to go quick too, believe me!  Good luck to everyone!

Hi everyone,

I'm new here. I have received NO1 at 11 Jan 2018, I'm waiting 148days already. Last time we met in Apr, It seem so difficult because long distance. My mother's fiance has lung cancer and she does not much longer, and I tried to apply visa B2 for visit her but they denied my visa, I have been in US last year but my visa expired. How can I met he and his family? Should I apply Visa B2 again? Many Thanks

Two months ago my timeline was estimating that we get adjudicated around July 18th. Now the estimate is up to July 28th! Ughhhh. Like why? Lol

Is it too much to ask to go down at least a whole month?!

An acquaintance of mine applied for a k-1 back in August of 2016 and had his visa IN HANDS by the end of November. Just a few days over the 3 months to go from the day he filed to the day he got his visa. Why can't that be us? Lol

It is crazy how things have changed within this "space"....USCIS have been receiving tons of applications from many different locations, for all sorts of cases and visas. I was just discussing this with my wife and being thankful for our case. We applied last year, February time frame, got the visa in July and arrived in August. Looking back we know we were lucky but at the same time we struggled during the all process....

Wish you all luck and let me know if I can help with anything.

Yeah it's a pain. The worst part of it all is that my fiancée and I thought that it was still a 3 month process when we applied. Only after I joined visa journey that we found out that it was taking 8-10 months. It was pretty disappointing bc we had plans of me leaving Brazil getting there in early spring. Now I'll only get there by the end of fall lol. Extremely bad timing lol

I wish USCIS would go back to the processing times of when you applied. That would mean I'd be entering the US next month! Lol Oh well, it is what it is I guess.
