Hello there every.

Just out of curiosity, how many pages did your i-129f packet contain? Our packet contained 52 pages, including all the necessary forms, but i see that some people have 100 or more pages.

We also didn't put any Skype or email logs as proof. We put some plane tickets, my ds2019s of when I was in the us on a scholarship and pictures of us every year since 2013, which was when we started dating.

Do you guys believe that's enough proof of our relationship or do you believe that they'll want to see emails and Skype logs between us?

Take care everyone!

Not sure how many pages ours was. I don't think you need to worry about the skype logs, those and pictures are secondary evidence.

We had the cheque, the e-notification form, a cover letter, the i-129f, a passport photo of me, and one of him, letters from each with intent to marry, a copy of something that proves we're planning to marry, three photos (unless he added more) and a copy of his latest tickets, and two trips of mine.

Edit: and his proof of citizenship! Birth certificate, a copy of his bio page in his passport. And ring receipts.

Hello there RambaCat, thanks for the reply.

I believe that my packet was pretty much like yours. Only difference is that our intent to marry letter was only one that was signed and dated by both her and I (her uncle was in Brazil and took the letters with my signature back to the US with him).

But one of my worries is that I don't have a photo of the ring since we choose not to purchase it here in Brazil because she wants to order a specific one in the US. You think the lack of a ring might get in the way of our process ? I know a lot of people don't have pictures of the engagement ring. In fact, this uncle of hers applied for a k-1 visa for his fiancée without an engagement ring and process went smoothly. He applied in January of 2017 and she was in the us by September and they didn't send him an RFE (and they had some delays because the lawyer forgot to  tell them that they're  case was already at NVC, so they  lost two months because of that).

Edit. I looked and our lawyer didn't include any e-notification form in our packet. Since that's the case, how will be receive our NOA1 or case number? Lol will be have to wait until we get the hard copies ?

Lack of ring shouldn't be a problem! We only includes the receipts as extra evidence, but it's certainly not required!

Hi Jan filers!

Just popping in to spread some positivity around. I hope you guys all have a good weekend!

Also, we didn't include pics of our ring because he hadn't technically proposed when we sent in our packet. I wouldn't sweat it. :)

I refresh the app every ten minutes. I am so bad at waiting. This is the kind of situation that I can't control and it makes me crazy. I am going to end up cleaning my whole apartment this weekend. Baseboards, walls, fixtures.

I appreciate your kind thoughts though. Keep the faith in the process. It DOES go. Just... At it's own pace. LOL

Ring won't affect anything. No worries about that.

Yes you will wait for the hard copies unfortunately..

On another note, please keep in mind (although I wish it improves) the timelines drastically changed since January 2017. It now takes without RFE an estimate of 10 months.

Good luck!

@Naes I know you must go crazy with everyone asking you the same stuff--annnnddd I know you're just one of us and you don't have certainty about anything either. But I would like to know you opinion since I'm currently doubting whether to plan my wedding more towards January/February than December. I originally picked Dec. 15 since it's my Dad's birthday and I would love for the date to be significant in that way. Is it too optimistic in your opinion as a more seasoned VJ user/expert? PS. I'm obviously refraining from putting down any deposits or anything like that--I'm not crazy.

Hello there Naes!

Well I'm glad the ring won't affect anything. Now I just hope that the evidence that I sent is enough. Pretty upset with my lawyer though. At no point did she mention anything about the e- confirmation form. Now I have to wait to get the hard copy of everything!

And about the processing time, could you direct me to the site or place where you're able to get information on processing times. That is, how do you know that's is been taking 10 months without a RFE?

Thanks for your help!

I can tell you what I did.

My noa1 is September 15.

my wedding date was July 28 but I started stressing too much and saw too many people getting stressed in May and June so I am changing it to either late Augusta or September because I already put my deposit (only on the venue) a year ago and all I can do is change and they don't have many choices. Even though I believe I'll be in the country by July, I'll change it.

i would say January to December is a safe bet. But and this is a big but, don't put money if you can't change the date! And wait for at least NVC for setting things in stone for 100%. Or if you can take some risks at least wait till whatever month comes 3 months before you (cause things don't change too drastically from that)

this is just how I'm doing :)

right now im waiting to see how july will be going (and it's going well so far yayyyy) and the moment August shows up I'll decide if I'm having my wedding in July or August or wait even more.

also Dec 15 is my moms birhday hehehe

thats so cute btw.!!

Wow now that will be hard to go through all of it. But let me give you the latest timelines from June filers if you want details please go around in other months topics because it really is a lot to explain.

noa1 to noa2 at the moment is average 190 days to 215 days.

there are people at day 240 without rfe waiting from May at least 6. And also in June we have lots of 220+ dates.

noa2 to NVC is taking 4-8 weeks to reach not process though so after this it's usually 1 week to reach the embassy

and then just add your embassy times (as his is embassy specific)

most may people are still at nvc at NVC stage or just got their interview dates. June is mostly waiting for noa2 or NVC

We keep track of everything here :)

also after you get your noa2 make a timeline at your profile page, it will give you the estimate for your noa2 adjudication ( although we have people waiting still that estimate shows 25 of December.... because even the website didn't expect these delays)

Ah I definitely understand. I'm not booking a venue at all, the wedding will be in my backyard. But still in terms of catering and photographer I'm not planning on making any set plans until we receive the NOA2. But still in terms of family travel plans I want them to be able to know as far in advance as possible so I was a bit nervous to tell them start looking at Dec. 15 then having to change it up. Your advice is very helpful! Crossing fingers for July and August to go by smoothly and fast!
