too early to worry my friend! :) Our time is coming!

I'm seeing my fiancee next month.  It'll be a pretty long trip (both the flight time to Singapore/Australia and my time in country), and we're trying to decide whether I should extend it into August to be able to attend her interview.  We've also set a wedding date for early December.

June 2016: We started writing to each other

June-July 2017: Met in person in the US for our first anniversary

December 2017 - January 2018: Met again in the US and got engaged

01/09/2018: I-129F sent to the USCIS Dallas Lockbox via FedEx

01/16/2018: Received NOA1 (NOA1 notice date: 01/11/2018)

June-July 2018: Met in person in Singapore and Australia for our second anniversary

08/03/2018: Notice date on our NOA2 (updated in USCIS's new website on August 6)

08/15/2018: Our case reached NVC

08/22/2018: Received NVC case number

09/04/2018: Our package left NVC (arrived 9/11, and she sent packet 3 that day)

09/20/2018: Received packet 4; scheduled interview

10/30/2018: Interview - told that we're approved!  Now waiting to receive the visa...
11/27/2018: Port of Entry at BWI

12/1/2018: Our wedding!

12/8/2018: Filed AoS on the way to our honeymoon (12/8-15/2018)
6/~7/2019: EAD and AP approved
09/25/2019: AOS interview in Orlando -- approval and green card!

Next step, June 2019: Filing I-751

Note: My wife is a Singaporean.  She moved to Australia before we met and got permanent residency there.

Thanks Naes for clearing that up, I just meant that silent noa2s as a symptom of the new system means that timelines are not being updated as regularly given their strange order and taking a long time to process things.

Nope don’t think about silent noa2 in regards to vj. It always existed and was even worse before the new website.

no updates on vj only means no updates on a vj member who is active.

but long weekends usually causes days to move. (Sorry for not bearing good news instead...)

That's okay, hopefully once they get the hang of things it will improve. It was looking so nice in February when they started two months in one month. *Sigh* Oh well, I just want my fiancee here for the holidays.

Congrats and enjoy your time with your fiancee. But I would be careful with expecting your interview in August, seeing as the estimated date for your NOA2 is late July. It would have to go through NVC and through Consular processing extremely fast (and get an interview date early on) for the interview to be 1 month-ish after NOA2. It could happen but you should be open to the possibility that the interview will be in September.

I always caution people about planning this far in advance- Even the estimated July time is just that, an estimate. Half of u will be early and half of you late.
By all mean, Yes, keep the dream alive but don't put that kind of stress on an already stressful matter. lol

Keep in mind MANY things affect how soon you get an interview. For example:
How quickly NVC gets your case
How quickly case goes from NVC to embassy
How busy your embassy is with interviews

I know people who waited almost 3 months after their case was ready for them to get an interview at the embassy.
So it's always good to be fliexbile.
Good luck to y'all! I hope things speed up

Yeah I'm too aware of this :( I'm hopin for a 2 month wait (or less of course) between NOA2 and Interview. Expecting (if no problems happen) a mid-late september interview date.

Yeah, I wish we could be more flexible there.  We only really get 2 windows a year where my fiancee and her relatives can come to the US because of their work.  If we miss this one, they won't be able to attend the wedding until next June.

And I lost yet another day on my timeline today. :(

I may be jumping the gun a bit, but today is day 141 and I am inpatient, I wrote to my congressman's office today requesting assistance in getting my case adjudicated within the 5-7 month timeframe, it will be 5 months in 9 days. I figured asking for assistance wont hurt..I am  not expecting action right away but maybe I will get lucky and get a reply in the next month or so. I am visiting my fiance in 5 weeks, hoping to get an approval before I leave for my trip.

I guess I don't understand why USCIS takes so long as this is essentially just making sure applicants have submitted all the proper paperwork. They have a list of what they require/accept & either it is or isn't that. NVC does the background check which seems more important & they move quickly. Also I think having an ESTA clearance should expedite things but I know it's too much to ask two different government departments to share data & communicate like that.
