Expedited Naturalization for Government Spouse Overseas?

This may be the wrong location for this, but it seems to fit here better than elsewhere.  I'm a Federal employee of the Defense Department being posted overseas for several years.  I know there's a process for expediting naturalization of foreign spouses when a government employee is being assigned overseas, but I can't find any reference to the law or process.  The process for military members is well documented, but that doesn't apply to Defense Department civilians.  I can find the State Department process for their employees, but that is only the internal State Department process.  I even found the expedited process for non-profit organizations serving overseas, but not for government employees.  Can anyone point me to the law, or any reference that discusses expedited naturalization for government employee spouses overseas?

Many thanks!

Greetings!

Goodluck!

Thanks for the reply, but that's the wrong site.  That is for military servicemembers.  I am a government employee, not a servicemember.  I appreciate the reply anyway!

No need for apology!  I appreciate the feedback. This latest link is close, but I’m actually looking for expedited naturalization for government spouses. This link at least provides waiver for continuous presence in US, so that’s good. Thanks!

Hello!

Kindly read the part in section C. Qualifying Employment Abroad, I think you are under this category. As your husband is a government employee. I highlighted it in green.

Nelma

C. Qualifying Employment Abroad

American firm or corporation engaged in whole or in part in the development of foreign trade and commerce of the United States, or a subsidiary thereof;

Public international organization in which the United States participates by treaty or statute; [14]

Authorized to perform the ministerial or priestly functions of a religious denomination having a bona fide organization within the United States; or

The state process is pretty much the same for DOD. Also remember that your wife will have to file for naturalization and then do the interview back in the USA.

Where do you work with the DOD? I am at Ft. Bragg right now.

Hi,

This is an article that I read.

I found something that clearly describes 319b

Thanks for being persistent, Nelma!  Yes, I read that more thoroughly and realized it doesn't actually state that the naturalization process is expedited, you just have to assume that because there is no time requirement for stateside presence for submitting.  I appreciate your effort, and my wife will be one happy Filipina!

All roads always lead back to Washington, DC for me eventually.  Even when I manage to escape for a while.
