(I apologize in advance this gets slightly personal but I am in need of help) Hello , I am 19 years old and just graduated high school last year (2017) and am trying to enlist into the Air Force . I came to the United States when I was 5 on a conditional residency because my mother married my stepfather (who is a citizen ) in our country . The problem is I cannot enlist because my mother never filed for my full permanent residency or hers when I was a child . Now our family went through a bad demostic violence case back in 2016 which almost left me homeless when I was 18 while I was a senior in high school (also lost my green card in the process but have the alien number , my social security card and all other documents)  ,now I live with my stepfather trying to figure this out . Both my parents are still married legally but live separate . I went to UCSIS  ,made a infopass appointment and told them my situation they gave me a I-751 form to fill out and told me I had to file under my mother since I am not 21 to file on my own . And also they gave me a for I -912 form to fill out ( I’m not sure if I should file under my mother as well ) but they told me to fill it out and attach a letter explaining my situation to them , and my ambitions to join the military, etc .in the forms I’m filling myself under the option “my parent enters the marriage in good faith and during marriage ,I was battered or subjected to extreme cruelty by my parents U.S citizen or lawful parmenent resident parent “ this was the case due to many personal problems among our family and altercations with authorities in those years . Lastly with the letter I am making with my wavier I am attaching a brief summary from our case mamanger explaining the situation,a note from my JROTC colonel that proves my ambition for the military ( served 3 years as a cadet ) and possibly one from my recruiter . Please to anyone reading this I want to know what my chances are of them approving my case , and any help ,advice , etc is greatly appreciated
