The following are restaurants/eateries located convenient to St. Lukes and to Casa Bocobo Hotel. I have not eaten in any and they are listed in order of what I would try, though I will not be there.  My choices are based largely on Trip Advisor ratings (TA x/5) with one prior VJ posting.

Max’s Restaurant, 1123 Ma. Orosa St, Ermita  4.3/5 (TA) Trip Advisor, sounds great…..go already, it’s 2 minutes from Casa Bocobo

Unnamed BBQ chicken, just in front of Puregold Market.  2 minutes from Casa Bocobo, from another prior VJ poster: “The chicken is fantastic! Only problem is they don't always have freshly BBQ'd chicken - you have to wait until they finish cooking a fresh batch. But that's MUCH better than the alternative, which is chicken that is not fresh”

Dulang Restaurant, 1313 Adriatico Street, Malate, Ermita  “like a carendria” but good food and prices.  Halal Tausig food, Malay, 4.2/5 on TA  6 minutes from Casa Bocobo

Dad’s Saisaki Kamayan, 523 Merchant Building Padre Faura cor. Adriatico Ste, Padre Faura St, Ermita,  meat not great, but sushi/sashimi good and good malungkit  4.2/5 TA  6 minute walk from Casa Bocobo

Sakurajima Japanese Restaurant 4.0/5  J. Bocobo St, Ermita  (next to St Lukes) only one review on Trip Advisor but I’d try it.  3 minute walk

Whatever bbq, 1023 Maria Orosa St, Ermita  3.7/5  two minute walk from Casa Bocobo, sounds ok.

Lot’s to choose from in Robinson’s (ten minute walk?)

  • Robinson’s Place food court got 4.0/5 but was listed as #19 of 886 restaurants in Manila, sounds like many choices and good food.  Let’s go!
  • Ramen Nagi sounds good but 400p for a bowl of noodles?
  • Yasu (Japanese cuisine) sounds good and not too expensive.

Reject: Heathy Shabu Shabu, good food but eww…many reports of cockroaches even on plates.  If you go, don’t put your bag on the floor or you might bring home house guests.

Please feel free to comment, good or bad, and to add others that you enjoy in that neighbohood.

I've ignored McD's, Jolibee and so on, they are pretty standard fare and we know what to expect if that's what we're up for.

There is or was a Cowboys Grill in Ermita area,  very short walk from St. Lukes.   Nice big air con club that is Country Westerned themed and huge (Texas Size).   Drinks are cold and the food is pretty good there as well,  they have good entertainment as in bands and I remember there  was no cover charge or very little.

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.

There is also a mall near St. Luke’s. I think it is Robinsons.

Indeed there is and within walking distance.  There is a 7-eleven and McDonalds on the same street as well.  We visited different 7-Elevens about 5 or 6 times during our week stay in Manila.
